Hey whats up all you Android people :D!

I've come here to ask a question about the current and upcoming android based phones on the verizon network. Currently I have a Storm1 and I feel both RIM and verizon screwed the owners on that one... So I'd like to look at other opportunities.

I live in cali and as of now verizon has the best coverage *not speed* so I'm just going to stick with them, but what phone would be worth getting through them? I know the droid X is coming out and I had a few questions about its stability and overall android usefulness compared to a HTC based android phone. Although the thing that was getting to me was does the apps store pretty much support all phones as long as it meets the spec requirements or is it just for this specific phone?

Also who releases the ROM's for the phone is question? Is it the manufacture or the carrier?

Ohh and would I be better off waiting further into the year to see if they will release something better? *I'm just gona stick with a 1 year contract*

Thanks for your time!

There are a TON of former S1 and S2 users on the Inc right now... I would suggest browsing through the Incredible forums and finding some former S1 users like you that could answer your specific BB > Android questions.

As for phones, both the Incredible and the X are great phones (X is not released yet, I'm going off previews). The X is gonna be a bit more of a hacker's phone, the Inc is more of a standard user phone. That is, Sense is easier to use than what is on the X. I would recommend going to a VZW store and playing with the Inc and the DROID (the X's UI is very similar) and seeing which you prefer.

However, the Inc is currently, and has been since launch, in very short supply so you might be better of waiting for the X unless you can get one in stores.

ROMs are typically done by hacker type people, although sometimes you see official ROMs leaked.

And there is ALWAYS going to be something better out. But I take it you are fed up with BB and looking to switch ASAP. Unless you really really want a physical keyboard like will be on the Droid 2, get an Inc or X now.

Thanks, for the info about the Droid 2! I wasn't aware of that model and will most likely wait if it comes out some time this year.

Worth is always highly subjective. We can't tell you what device is worth it to you, especially if you don't provide any info regarding your particular wants/needs. Compare the features and specs and pick whatever suits you best. Definitely compare devices in person. Most people have deciding factors based on physical features such as size, weight or "build quality".

I know the droid X is coming out and I had a few questions about its stability and overall android usefulness compared to a HTC based android phone.
How are we supposed to comment on the stability of an unreleased device?

Please refer to all other "Should I wait?" threads on the net. ;)
