Would it be weird if I purchased a Galaxy Note 5 at this point in time?

I'm looking to get me a new Android phone (former Lumia 1520 user) and it has to be a phablet. Of course I had my eyes on the new Galaxy Note 7 but that's a wrap, at least for the next year according to me. So my other option was the Galaxy Note 5. Would any of you recommend this to someone? Any advice?

I had a Note 5 for a while, and it was a great phone. You should also be able to get a great deal on it at this stage as well.
You may also want to look at the new Google Pixel XL 5.5 inch

Note 5 is a great device. And at this point it'll be a lot cheaper than current flagship devices like the Pixel which I feel have been priced on a higher side.

First of all theres no note 6 n 7 is over finished production stopped. Secondly all major updates are for note 5 n it works like a charm. R u serious about buyin the note 5 or what.

I just got the note 5 last month for free when Sprint switched out my degraded note 4 (battery life destroyed by the marshmallow update). If you can get the 64gb version, I'd get it. I have the 32gb, and that's my only complaint abt the phone.

As a former owner of a note 5 that switched to the note 7, i can say that any version of the note line is unique from all other phones. I recently, actually just 2 hours ago, switched my note 7 for a new note 5 gb64 (gave my original note 5 to my dad since his last "newest phone" was a s5. I could have gone s7 with the edge (fell in love with the edge on the note 7) or the water proof, or the expandable memory, but it wasn't a Note device.

so i will get my sd card dongle out of storage for my 256gb card, have frequent fond memories of the Note 7, and wait for the Note 8 while I enjoy my Note 5.

as for the price dropping, don't count on it. I still had to pay $750 dollars for the Note 5 through T-mobile, but that's fine, I was planning on paying that much with my Note 7.

I had a Note 5, that became my daughters when I upgraded to the Note 7. I really...really...really... like the note line. So now that I am going to have to lose the Note 7, I just purchased an unlocked Note 5 (32 gb) ..new... for about $450. I am hoping for the best from the memory. My old Note 5 was the 64gb version and I didn't really ever for anywhere near filling it up.

Shame about the N7, but I guess I will be happy with the Note 5 until the N8.

I had the Note 4 upgraded to the Note 7 very sad over the issues. Yesterday I returned my replacement Note7 and got the Note 5. I actually like it! I loved my Note7 but it is what it is. The Note 5 is a great device.

I just got the Note 5 this past Sunday. It's a stellar device. The fact that it still rocks and is in the same league as the defunct but great Note 7 (that we can't easily get) and is over a year after release is a true testament to its awesomeness.

It's just proof how great the Note series really has been. I started with the 2 then 3 and 4 jumped to the 7 and now the 5.
So with the sadness over the 7 at least we can say we STILL HAVE A GREAT DEVICE. I love Samsung loyal to them
