would ripping off the imem sticker on the back of my phone void my warrantee?

It's not a tag on a bed- rip it off ! The IMEI, serial number etc. are readable in settings as long as the phone operates.

Incidentally, removing a mattress tag is not illegal for the consumer to do. Just save it in case of a possible warranty claim.

My AT&T one also came with the same info on a separate sticker in the box instructing me no to lose it. Of course one of the first things I did was remove the sticker on the phone.

Isn't this part of the lure of Android? Being able to customize your phone? :D
