i currently owned an ipad air 2 as my main portable device for entertainment and for some minor work. however the ipad 2 is not possible to be my main device due to the lack of a file explorer system for the device. also i cant transfer files from usb to the ipad. for excel and documents work, i also find it much easier with a mouse like device.

so im looking at purchasing a pixel c to be my main device and replace my old laptop. my main use is if i buy it is for

- emails reading and composing. sometimes long emails
- editing spreadsheets and documents. not much though. the bluetooth mouse will help i think
- streaming youtube videos and music by spotify
- watching videos with vlc
-listening to hi res music (flac)
- light gaming
- used for emulation for older consoles possible? snes playstation or even ps2 games can be played on the pixel c?
- trasnferring file with usb to my employees laptop
- browsing the web
- reading ebooks and manga
- tinkering around with apps...

so will the pixel c works for my needs? since most of the stuff i do will require internet or wifi...im very worried about the wifi connection issue. i will be heading to australia to purchase and bring it back to indonesia. so its not easy to just return the product. how reliable will the product be and how much issue it have at the moment..

im so tempted because i really loved the looks and form factor of the pixel c. its so gorgeous and perfect sized. im willing to take the risk..but how much risk is there? im really concerned with the wifi problem though. is ot that bad as some claim?

The WiFi issue, if you get it, isn't debilitating by any means, it's just not as fast as fast can be. We're talking getting 40 Mbps rather than 60, etc. Everything on your list works great on the Pixel C except I'm not certain on hi res music. Obviously it will play it, but do you mean getting hi fidelity through the headphone jack or are you playing through the speakers or connecting via BT to other speakers (which would degrade quality), etc? So far, this is the best tablet that has ever been made and Android N makes it even better. IMO, etc.

Most of the time, I don't have any WiFi issues with my C. When I have problems, it is usually places where coverage is poor to begin with. For example, I can't see my neighbor's hotspots on my C, but I can on my Nexus 5. Another example was when I was on vacation a couple of weeks ago; the resort's WiFi was unusable on my C (on my other devices, it was merely bad).

At home, work, or the coffee shop, I don't have any trouble. I may be 10-20% slower on my C, but that's not enough for me to notice, unless I'm running a speedtest program.

There are actually two issues which are not necessarily related. The first is speed as you mentioned, and the second is connection strength.

I always have problems with work email, but more on Android than this specifically. Nobody does a decent POP3 email app any more on Android unless you use the vomit for the eyes that is BlueMail. How I'd love to be able to use the stock email app from my S7 Edge on the Pixel C also.

Most of the other things you mention are great on the Pixel C. I briefly tried Nintendo emulators (SNES, N64) and they seemed to run great, I just hated playing them on a touchscreen so I only use the Shield TV for them now. Easily ran as smoothly on the tablet though.

Sound is iffy, but always is on Android devices if you don't use a speaker of some kind. It's still comfortably better than the S7 Edge though.

I bought a USB-C OTG cable and have had no issues transferring with a USB stick drive.

Excel works great with a mouse. I've been using one with the aforementioned cable so I haven't had a go of a bluetooth one yet, just be careful if buying as I think some don't work (that's why I haven't bought one as of yet).

I've had no WiFi issues with range or speed. I use the tablet sitting out the back yard and the router is at the front of the house. Tried a few scans in random places too and the Pixel picks up as many networks as the Samsung does.

Just a quick fyi, Gmail and Outlook both do POP3 email very well.

Outlook? Is this a new feature? Great news if it can - I only ever seen IMAP in setup.
I don't like using GMail as my personal email account is there.

Just download it now and still not seeing it.
