WOuld you all leave the 10.1 and go with the note 8 inch if you all could?

I said this in a similar post before, but I wouldn't go with the 8 if it meant I had to give up the 10.1. However, if I had the money to buy the Note 8 and I had the Note 2 or 3 already, i'd be all over it. I love the Galaxy Note line of devices.

They do...almost (11.6") but sadly, no S-Pen.

So, i will wait for the Note 14.1 (probably never happen, but that would be the sweet spot for my tired old eyes and arthritic hands)

Its interesting that many of us with the GNote 10.1 also have the GNote 2. Guess we like the abilities Samsung give us with this line, no wonder its doing so well.

I have the GNote 10.1 and a N7 and it seems the GNote gets more usage so I would say no. I like the ability to get a relatively standard sized web page in an easy to read format, as others have said it's great for older eyes. At work I use the GNote as a 2nd monitor so the extra size comes in handy there too.

Happy for the choice and that Samsung has the ability to give it to us .

Yup, ~14" SG Note with S-Pen would be the perfect size for me as well. I want a screen the size of 8.5" x 11" just like a standard piece of paper! Let my N8000 with Charging Keyboard Dock go to a new home. Back to using an old 15.4" laptop for now. Old eyes need more real estate.

Would never size down from a 10.1" to an 8".

Yes, we agree on the increase in size. The Note at 7 " to make the ideal phone and an 11" screen on the larger device.

Uh, actually, the ATIV Smart PC Pro 700T does indeed have an S-Pen and your friendly neighborhood Wacom digitizer. Over twice the price of the Note 10.1, but it's a convertible (laptab? tabtop?) running full Windows 8. The funny thing is, it has the same mediocre *cough*crappy*cough* 5 MP camera as the Note 10.1 and 8.0. (This for me has been the one disappointment with the Note 10.1.) Samsung has obviously decided that if you really want to take decent pictures and videos with its mobile products, you should be using its phones, not its tablets.

I stand corrected.

No flame intended but, on the subject of "decent pictures", tablets and phones are my last choice after an actual quality digital camera, something Samsung also offers. The camera in tablets and phones will do in a pinch for photos... also to use with scanner or QR code reader apps. Call me old school. JMO

LOL at digital cameras being called "old school." I still have a film-based SLR, though I haven't used it in ages. But you're right, nothing mobile compares to a digital SLR, which is what I use for serious picture taking. The problem is that it's not always around, while the phone and tab are. In any event, my Note 2 really does take decent pics, and above all it takes excellent video, something the Note 10.1 definitely does not do.

I am preferential to the 10.1 size. I like having the extra real estate especially when in multi window.
