Would you buy HTC One over GS4 if One was also made from 'cheap plastic'?

This is not a logical question. It's like asking if you would marry Angelina Jolie if she looked like Mrs. Doubtfire.

Absolutely.

I bought the One because of its software experience: the minimalistic Sense 5, zero lag, great camera features (Zoe, highlights, etc.), and apps like the TV remote that don't feel like bloat.

Probably cause I'm not crazy about Touch Wiz. Nor their screen resolution. BUT jmo, & you did ask.
:o

Always wanted to ask this Question to HTC One owners :D

Out of curiosity.

I wouldn't buy the S4 even if it would grant you three wishes and one of those wishes could be that it turns into an HTC One. It's not just the front speakers, but also the sound when using headphones or the unit is interfaced with a sound system.

Well............................... would you??? ;)

No, she is a wacko and doesn't deserve the Willie experience.

Well. There is plastic and...there is plastic. :p

But. Let's say HTC had gone with a "plastic" casing, it would still be a close decision, but I would still get the HTC One. Love the speakers. Sense 5. LCD. Etc.

I probably would have stayed with my Lumia 920 and iPhone 5. Maybe even pick up an S4. I don't know. Honestly there's a whole lot more to love from this phone than it's metal body.

Which one: Mrs. Doubtfire, or Angelina?

Mrs Doubtfire was a fictional character that lived in the real word. Angelina is a 'real character' that lives in a fictional world.

So I am talking about Angelina. (Even though I did think she was somewhat hot). Besides, Mrs Doubtfire is/was a dude... ;)

It is an illogical question. but....Angelina (aka HTC One) could NEVER look like Mrs. Doubtfire. Even in cheap plastic Angelina would still be sleek and sexy. Mrs. Doubtfire (aka S4) will always be ugly and bloated, dude or no. So yes, HtC One in cheap plastic would get my vote.

I wasn't using a phone person reference. But if one likes, the HTC One would be Charlie's Angels (Anyone, from either era) and the G4 would be Roseanne Barr.

If you want to keep it real, HTC One would be current wife, 10 G4s with dead batteries stacked on top of each other would be ex wife. ;)

Yup. I hate Touchwiz and like Sense. Plenty of other reasons too but Touchwiz is enough to keep me away.

I really like the size of the S4 screen, but it is pretty difficult to see outdoors. The Ones screen is extremely bright, and if you crank it up you could almost use it as a flashlight.

The Metal case is actually a negative for me. I like to be able to swap batteries when needed and wireless charging is one of the greatest things ever invented. I got the one because of the speakers and minimal interface. The 10.000 apps on the gs4 was the big turn off for me.

Wow really good question. Henry thought about it. But no I would not. I would go with the gs4 sadly because the one has boom sound and a better screen and beats and a better UI. But still I would go with the Gs4. I think. - it depends on if it was still designed nicely.

Yes! Build quality is one part of a long list of things about the One that appeal to me. Others include Sense over Touchwiz, Boomsound, LCD vs Amoled, etc. I'm sure the S4 is a great phone and I'll also be getting one for work. But, for my personal phone paid for with my money, the One won out.

This is the first phone I've had that didn't have a removable battery. I have never purchased a spare battery. I have micro USB cables coming out of my ***. I keep one in each car. At my desk. In my nightstand. I have USB port outlets in my home, my car, my laptop, my workstation, home computer... Spare batteries are so 1990s.
