Bricked phone. I could JTAG it so it works again. The LCD would cost me more and it couldn't be activated

The upgrade plan, mostly because part of the thrill of a new device is it looking new on the outside as well. Hence the reason people change cars and not just rebuild their old ones after awhile.
This is a real choice I'm facing right now:
Take a job making $X a year but the commute takes 2 hours out of your day every day or a job that pays you $X - $4000 a year but flies you to locations across the country Mon-Fri, pays $40 a day per diem for meals, pays your dry cleaning, pays for your rental car, pays for your hotel?
Depends if family is an issue.

Cycling on a spin bike in doors. Doing it now as I have to push training forward and my back is struggling on ergos (rowers as I killed it this morning). No kayaking as its nearly 40 degrees Celsius.

Second job sounds better. $4K less but dry cleaning/hotels/rentals/food is covered. It'll cost a lot more than that at the other job. Plus traveling

JTAGing forces the phone to boot, regardless of OS status (hard/soft bricked, no OS at all, etc.)
So you can write whatever you need to make the phone work.
