Wow. Alot of issues with ICS update

For a non-rooted phone, MyBackup will backup your apps, home screen settings, contacts , bookmarks, SMS, MMS, Call history, Photos, Videos, Music, Playlists, etc.

There's still a bit of work to do reconfiguring the apps, but it does save time on getting back from a factory restore.

I too am experiencing remarkably slower/longer re-charge times, especially via USB. Additionally, the battery charge is lasting significantly less, dropping at an astounding rate and requiring an almost constant source of external power. I did a Factory Reset as well as remove and re-install the battery, SIM and SD Cards. The problem remains. What was once a remarkably smooth and nearly-flawless device has morphed into a unit fraught with ills.:(

Sounds like the phone is no longer going into deep sleep mode, thus causing increased battery drain overall, even when charging (thus causing the longer charging times). According to a thread over at XDA (ICS - Deep Sleep issue... Related to Charging? - xda-developers), the problem can occur with ICS when a USB charging source is connected to the phone that may then trigger a process that prevents the phone from going into a deep sleep. A few workarounds to ensure that process isn't preventing the phone from going into deep sleep:

- Reboot the phone after connecting or disconnecting a USB charging source
- Charge the phone with it powered off, disconnect USB cable, then turn on
- Use an external battery charger and swap out for a fresh battery (avoids the USB charging source)

You can also try downloading the full RUU (link below) and flashing the phone with it (to fix what could be a borked install of ICS). This basically reloads the entire operating system from scratch, so back up your stuff first. If all else fails, it's time to contact Verizon for a replacement.

I am having the EXACT same issues! I'm so upset right now. My phone was PERFECTION. I wished and hoped for ICS, now I totally regret it! Another issue I'm having, is that it's taking a full 45 seconds to a minute to connect a call. The battery is dropping 1% almost per minute, without even using it. Also the browser is really slow loading pages. What if I get a replacement and I have the same issues? Does anyone know how Verizon deals with that type of scenario? Man I just want my pre ICS Rezound back.

So glad I'm sticking with gingerbread.

I am having a few issues since updating to ICS
Rezound un-rooted and no factory reset on update.

my issues are audio
phone quality is poor, cuts in and out at times and sounds metal like at times
( I was blaming other callers until I used navigation and that voice kept changing)

also with the phone
if you make a call say to voicemail, the screen goes black and does not give you enough time to enter password, this is very frustrating navigating any call with automated systems.

last problem
keyboard will not hit the #1 unless i got to the number screen ( i installed swift key 3.3 after
still happens and I calibrated keyboard as well)

I will do a factory reset if I must but would rather not, phone was new from warranty repair when I got ICS

any thoughts, I would be so happy if it was a bad setting or something easy enough to fix
Janice

I'm sure someone might be able to help. I'm still on GB so I can't.

Factory reset is the best starting place. ICS really doesn't have that many (if really any) bugs.

I was excited about the ICS update, but also a little hessitant to udate after some of the responses. I checked on my phone and the update was available and bit the bullet and updated. I am glad I did so far (about 2 days). The phone feels like it runs faster and has better battery life (still not awesome but better). Only a couple minor issues like having to reset custom ringtones and notifications (no problem though) and had to reinstall my yahoo email account (old one was there but not downloading new emails, settings looked correct, so I uninstalled and reinstalled the yahoo account and all is well). I did not need to do a factory reset, my phone worked well before the update and even better after. I'm still learning all the new shortcuts with ICS and am very happy I updated.

Same here. After draining the battery about 3-4 times and just re-charging it, I just did a power off the phone, charged up the battery, started it up and now I have better battery life than I did when GB was on. Everything else works just better...especially how smooth the graphics are. Also just got my first weather notification alert as we were having a thunderstorm approach the area. Didn't know at first what it was but sure would have been interesting to hear it at Von's as many people in this rural area I live in have VZ as the only game in town. It would have been a duck-and-cover event
