I know this is might belong in the Apps section but I think there are a lot of people here who are completely new to the Android platform (like me) and have been coming only here.

Find great Android apps and games - AppBrain

One of the things few I liked about BB is that you could check out their apps on a computer and send them to your phone which you can't do with Marketplace. Well I think AppBrain is even better because you can even sync and manage the Apps that are already on your phone! Download the AppBrain Market Sync widget from the AppBrain website and try it out.

cool site. i also came from a BB & in enjoyed sending apps to my phone. AppBrain seems like it can solve that need.

I love AppBrain.

I picked out 50+ apps to install before I got my phone. They were all loaded within minutes.

So, yeah, I'm a fan of AppBrain.

I tried installing apps from the appbrain site from my PC but they do not seem to be syncing with the phone. I must be doing something wrong...

Ideas?

(I'm on an Incredible)

I sync'd app brain to my Incredible last night and downloaded my first bunch of apps from them.

akdakd1814, I first went to appbrain, logged in with my G-mail account, then selected some apps. It saves them to a list. Then I installed "appbrain market sync" on the Incredible. When I run "appbrain market sync" on the Incredibletis asked for my G-mail login/password. At that point my phone was sync'd to appbrain, and I could see the list of apps I saved on my computers browser. I downloaded the app's to my phone from the list I made on the appbrain site.

Thanks - I was, as it turns out, indeed making a simple silly mistake. My phone was logged into my Google account (and had worked yesterday with AppBrain). But when I went to the site today on my computer I didn't realized I signed in under my Yahoo Account instead of Google account. So of course the two were not able to sync.

All better now! :-)

I won't deny that when I first got my HTC Hero I was excited about using apps & I stumbled upon AppBrain. First of all, it was way better than the actual Android marketplace & secondly it was hyped by alot of people. Unfortunately, AppBrain isn't as good as other marketplaces out there because it's to average for me. If you're into features then I suggest using RawApps!

I have a question about Appbrain Sync App. When you are in the "manage applications" section of the app it shows quite a few more apps to uninstall that the other app I have to remove apps with called "Uninstaller" ... specifically City ID. Can I uninstall City ID using the Appbrain Sync App? I have read that its a POS app and have seen the pop-up message about continuing trial or buying the City ID app...which I don't plan on buying.

Has anyone tried this?

Unfortunately, City ID is in ROM. Can't be removed until/unless we get Root for the phone.
