wow...i really, REALLY, love this phone!

I'm excited about this phone and don't even have it yet.

I've owned quite a few Android phones and a couple IPhones along with a few Windows phones and this one has me going.

Friday... Waiting for Friday... Hopefully BB will have them in stores then

Well to keep the buzz going, its as good as your thinking 😜😜

Looks like we went about the same route except I skipped the Sammy. The Turbo was a typical Moto Camera. Worked fine on a 6 leg tripod screwed into the concrete, but not so good if you were holding it trying to take a picture.

As for me, my phone is my camera, so no. It's not just a phone.

Now, had you gone the route of the G3 instead of the Turbo, I have a feeling you'd still be using/happy with the G3 and wondering what all the hype was about on the G4 ;) Glad you finally found the LG devices. Enjoy!

Its not often that I (or we as a general public consumer) have all that much to get excited about when it comes to cell phones. I guess out of habit and reluctance to change, I always went the Motorola Droid path. I had every incarnation from the original Droid, to Droid 2, 3, Global, 4 (what an awful choice) Razr Maxx, Maxx, and Turbo. All were pretty decent (well except the droid 4, which seemed to run out of battery life by about 10:30am AND no removable battery), but never offered me anything all that exciting. I hit my breaking point with the Turbo, which was amazing with battery life, but somehow Moto put a camera in that phone that even with 21 mp, I struggled to get anything captured with even the slightest movement. Hugely let down. "But its a phone, not a camera" i was chastised...while being a fair enough point, if it wasnt working for me personally, than it was not the phone for me either. I went back to my Moto Maxx simply to get usable pictures again.

Wanting a change, and with the G4 release date nothing but rumors, I gave the galaxy s6 a shot. Good phone, cool camera, but I swear you could watch the battery drain on that phone while reading a web article. Literally watch the life drain from the phone. So once again, wasnt the phone for me. Packaged her back up, and returned it.

Preordered the Verizon LG G4 and literally had it the next day. Right off the bat, something about the phone...just felt different, fun, and like it was an amazing change from the moto experience I was too scared to give up. The phone felt big, yet perfectly fits in my hand and pocket. Felt light but also sturdy. Not indestructible, but sturdy. It comes with an offer for an extra battery, which of course I sent in...but ill be honest...this baby charges so fast, and the battery handles itself so well for what I use the phone for, I highly doubt Ill even need to swap out the battery all that much, if ever, but knowing there is that option...its reassuring anyway. The operating system is easy to learn, intuitive, and so smooth!

The camera...yup...its as good as advertised. I am always going to laughingly look back at Motorola advertising the turbo as "a powerhouse 21 mp camera at the flick of your wrist, so you wont miss ANY of the action". I guess they forgot a footnote ..."unless any of the action entails the slightest movement or challenging lighting situation". I WANT to go out and take pictures again. I WANT to capture so many more things I wasnt able to before.

So if you have read this far, I thank you! Just really happy about this phone, and LG has a new phone customer for as long as they keep making phones this great! Its nice to not settle but to have a phone that does everything right that you want done.

The reason you got rid of the S6 is exactly the same reason I'm getting rid of mine and picking up the G4 on Friday.

Congrats! I'm glad you're happy.

How responsive is the UI on the G4? Recent Apps, scrolling through pages, etc.

I have an S6e and find the UI to be very fluid but wouldn't mind a better battery and bigger display.

Also did you use the fingerprint scanner, i'm afraid i may miss this if I decide to take the plunge..

Sorry if this is off topic.
Honestly, I did not use the fingerprint scanner on my S6, so I don't mind not having it on my G4. I find the device to be just as responsive as my S6, perhaps even a bit snappier.

Love the enthusiasm OP! Thanks for the post!

Great to hear about the stellar G4 battery - like you, it's the biggest problem, by far, with my S6. Do you detect any lag at all in the G4?

The fingerprint scanner on the S6, while improved, is still a pain to use. It seems to take longer to respond and have more difficulty registering my fingerprint the longer I use it. I will go in and rescan my fingerprint in the settings and it works good for a week or so. Incredibly frustrating. One thing I will give the iPhone credit for, they nailed the fingerprint scanner.

Agreed. I tried using the fingerprint scanner at first and ran into the same issues.

100% agree...zero issues with my iPhone fingerprint scanner - it just works, all the time. My S6 is hit or miss. Probably every 3-4 times it doesn't recognize my fingerprint and I need to make multiple efforts to get into the phone - very frustrating. I've reset it multiple times already but it doesn't seem to help all that much.

Have to agree this is one sweet phone, got it today in Tan leather from O2 and it's amazing. Fully charged and did the tap to transfer google accounts etc and everything was set up quick. Had the G3 before i got the Note 4 but while i love the S pen features of the Note it's not ideal for when i'm cycling. Tried the G4 in my cycling jacket and that slight curve just fits perfectly.

Still going to keep the Note 4 but this is a fantastic piece of equipment and for any LG Smart TV users it doubles as a magic remote if your Tv is running web os. Anybody know a good tempered glass screen protector that works with the curve?

Just to piggy back on what they said, the iPhone and iPad fingerprint scanner works perfectly everytime for me. Now, my mom on the other hand, it never works for her.

So glad to hear so many positive reviews from so many people. I picked up S6 2 days ago and I could not stand that battery drain. Like other people said, you could watch it go down. I'm waiting to take it back to BB and pick up G4. Can someone with the phone take pics of kids/people moving indoors? I know G3 made the image so soft that a lot of blur was introduced in the pics and lens was slow. How fast is the lens indoors taking pics? TIA.

LG G4......My perfect phone... The wait is over!!!

For two years now I have been submitting random Posts reviewing all my flagship smartphone endeavors as I search for the Holy Grail of phones. The perfect phone. During that time I have purchased more flagship smartphones than should be allowed by law. While I have owned some pretty incredible devices, they all in their own way, missed the bus on finding the perfect balance between great build quality and functionality. It seemed as though if a manufacturer put focus on build quality they skimped somewhere else to allow for that focus. Take the Galaxy S6 for example. Samsung focused so hard on overhauling the design that it really cut corners in regards to software and user experience. Any true fan of smartphone technology that isn't a fanboy will understand exactly what I am saying. The closest thing I have found to finding that ever elusive balance of brains and beauty is the iPhone 6. Unfortunately that phone has absolutely no personality, just like every other iPhone ever created. Very boring, very straight forward but very consistent and for the most part dependable.
All the above, for me, has changed over the last 24 hours. Yesterday morning, FedEx delivered a box containing the phone that has ended my search. That phone is the LG G4. Over the past few weeks I have been using a g flex 2 as my daily driver. I actually fell in love with that phone. I have consistently written that I couldn't wait to get my hands on the G4. I figured, as much as I love the Flex 2, the G4 could do nothing short of knocking my socks off. Boy was I right. I understand perfection is not obtainable and getting close to it is relative as well as subjective. However, I truly believe the G4 is as close to it as "I" have seen or will ever see. Lg has mastered the balance between build quality, functionality and user experience. All three are great and they do not cannibalize one another. They do the antithesis of that. Build quality.... Functionality..... User experience, they all compliment one another with the G4. A unique exterior that gives you the option between genuine leather and/or diamond textured ceramic, a smooth reworked custom LG user interface that sits on top of Android lollipop 5.1, an amazing quad HD display with a 538ppi, the best camera to ever be put in a smartphone(yes that includes the Windows Nokia 1020) and last but definitely not least... A removable back with a micro SD card slot for memory expansion and a removable battery. All those wonderful attributes combined and in no particular order of importance make this the most well balanced smartphone built to date.... In my opinion of course.
I would just like to state the importance of the removable back that gives one the ability to add memory and replace the battery. This is a dieing concept that has almost reached the point of extinction. Take away continuing software updates and enhancements, the ability to replace the battery and add memory are the two biggest factors in regards to having a future proofed phone. Let's face it, these phones are really expensive and having to replace them annually can become financially taxing (no pun intended). A well built phone with great software coupled with the ability to add memory and replace the battery when it begins to fail allows you the luxury of being able to use your phone for multiple years saving you money. It allows your phone to become an investment as opposed to an expense. The Samsung Galaxy S6, iPhone 6 and HTC one m9 are phones that DO NOT have removable backs therefore they do not have replaceable batteries. The only other phone that even has a Micro SD slot is the HTC one m9. Those other flagship phones are NOT designed to be future proof investments. They are simply designed to get you through the year until you can buy their next flagship offering.
To summarize, I have finally found my smartphone Holy Grail. It is called the LG G4. All kidding aside, if you are looking for a new phone or its time for an upgrade, I would at the very least strongly consider the G4. Especially if you are a power user that needs a phone they can rely on for years to come.

I totally agree with all of you above.. Personally, I have been a loyal Samsung Galaxy user for many years now...from Galaxy S until Galaxy S5...however I got bored of them and I decided not to follow with the tradition with S6 and to brake that bond Samsung by getting the new LG G4. This is my first LG smartphone and I am sooooooo HAPPY for my choice. It fully unlocked and free from any carriers bloatware.. LG has a new customer now

I agree with everything you wrote except for the iPhone part. I've never had one so I can't really agree or disagree with anything about it. I have no need for it either. Too many great options here on the Android side that appeal to me more!
