I have been using a DINC rooted for a long time. I finally got rid of Sense, which I love, but wanted a "new phone" so to speak. I held the Rezound in my hand yesterday and IMHO it's a beautiful work of art. From the textured backing to the red accents I loved everything about the device, minus the volume buttons being a bit too pushed in, but that is good in a sense that in car mounts, etc. it won't change by accident.

I did regretfully leave the store without purchasing one.

Why?

ICS is coming to it, but I would root the device anyway and get rid of sense.
Would ICS be adapted for HTC because they still have the hardware buttons on it that the Nexus doesn't?
Does poweramp work with beats?
If the headphones weren't included then is this just really a 200.00 device?
I listen to pandora, sirius and other music non stop on the way to work, during work, etc.
Getting rid of sense saves me a lot of battery which I waste on live wallpapers lol
Try something different

Why I wouldn't want the nexus.
Samsung...nuff said
They make my darn refridgerator!
Form factor- won't sit flat on a desk? Feel maybe too cheap? Can't take a fall?
Using media software ala itunes to transfer files as it is a different method of using it as mass storage.
I could care less about NCS/ NSC or whatever that is, including google wallet.
I feel like everyone purchasing this device or waiting for it are the same who make fun of people waiting for the next iphone. Hypocritical IMHO.

I am torn, but I think the best thing to do is wait until the Nexus comes out and go from there.

Thoughts?

Heck I was going to sell my DINC in great condition with two chargers and a 32gb micro sd card but may keep that as a back up.

Did I just talk myself into getting the rezound?

The Rezound is the DInc on CRACK!

I also just came from the DInc, which I had and LOVED since the day it was released. I never rooted, so I can't comment on software, but you might also consider size.

I really loved the narrow width of the incredible. I could do just about anything on that phone one-handed and it fit perfectly into any pocket. I was 100 percent planning to buy the Nexus Galaxy whenever it was finally released. As the release date became more and more obscure, I decided to open my mind up to the rezound and the razor since a) I saw the GN delay as an opportunity to better educate myself, and b) my beloved DInc was having problems.

There were a lot of reasons I ended up going for the Rezound, not the least of which was the black Friday $50 deal at Costco, but I'll just speak to the size here. I was slightly concerned that the additional width of the razor and nexus would be an issue. I definitely looked forward to a larger screen, but the whole comfort thing was gnawing at me. Well, I'm so glad I trusted my instincts. Having now owned the rezound for about 2 weeks , I can say that the phone is fabulous every single way... BUT it is hard to get used to such a wide phone. I have "piano fingers ", but it's still a big adjustment to go from the DInc to this. The performance and features of the Rezound are too amazing to give it up and I don't think there would be anything out there that would be worth switching to for a more narrow profile. I'm slowly adjusting, but it is a big difference from the DInc. And I certainly can't see myself ever being happy with anything bigger. Thank G-od I didn't blindly go for the GN. ICS means zip if it comes on a device that I dread holding in my hand.

I could list at least 10 other reasons why I think the Rezound is a superior phone, but you can find all in the many threads on this board. Since you are also coming from the DInc, I thought this might provide a different perspective on the phone. Whatever you get, enjoy it!

Thanks again for the comments here. I had a Dinc too so it's good to hear. Its just going to be down to that Nexus. I wish I could try it now and get the comparison over with! What's the problem with Samsung? I've never had one of their phones but this Galaxy Tab seems well done.

Samsung favors plastics in their construction, so the finished product isn't as solid as other manufacturers. A lot of people have an issue dropping $300 on a phone that feels that cheap. I've also heard that their radios aren't the greatest, although I've never had an issue with my old Samsung Rogue.

I'm in the same boat though. I'm waiting on the Nexus to finally show up so I can do a hands-on comparison.

I just don't get why 100.00 headphones are included. Does it really make it a 300.00 phone? I mean they are probably subsidized, etc.

Also, beats not working with poweramp etc makes that whole think worthless.

So the Rezound is suppose to be ICS ready. If you have buttons, ICS does not put the on screen buttons up, it just uses the ones on the phone. Also, the software part of beats is just all EQ stuff, that you can mimick with a market EQ. They are very comfortable, but being as they are monster brand... they probably only cost about $15 to HTC. They biggest reason for waiting for a nexus phone is to have all the updates fast, without rooting.

I have had this rezound for a few weeks now, and I love it so far its fast(I can't wait for a sense free rom) the screen is awesome!
I was also going to wait for a nexus, but there were a few things that I didn't like about the Nexus ans they are the reason I got the rezound. Nexus only has a 5mp camera, it also has no SD card slot you are stuck with 16/32 gigs(which ever you buy) it is a major thing to me to have a SD card slot. I have a 32gig card in this rezound plus the 10 gigs = allot of storage. I also picked up the rezound on the penny Amazon sale.I went from a thunderbolt and this rezound is far better. I woulda got the phone with out the head phones they were just a nice bonus.
