Wrong caller ID showing up for Pixel on Verizon

My husband started using a Pixel with VZW about two weeks ago. When he messages me, and my car's Bluetooth connection picks it up, instead of saying the message is from him, it says it is from me! I have him in my Contacts, and his name is correctly reflected there, and we also checked all the settings we could find on his phone, and his name was correct in there as well. There are other oddities when he calls out, like my daughter's name showing up instead of his. We don't know how to fix this. I did go into Wireless settings on the Verizon web site, and changed his name ID, but I am not sure that will fix this issue.

A bit of background which may or may not shed any light on this issue. When we ordered the phones initially, I was supposed to get the Pixel and he was slated to get the Galaxy 7. We ended up switching and the SIM cards were swapped. I don't see how this would cause the problem, but figured I would mention it.

Has anyone else experienced this and is there a way to fix it? Granted, it's not a showstopper, but it is really annoying to see the wrong name all the time.

Just out of curiosity - can you check in the Verizon account to see what names are associated with the two SIMs? Trying to figure out if Verizon overrides the caller ID, based on the names they see in the account

Have you tried to have the Bluetooth in the car forget the phone? Have the phone forget the car? Then reconnect.

This sounds like a very good idea.

Also, open the Contacts app on your phone and use the search tool to search *your* phone number (just enter the area code and digits, like this:2129871234). Does any entry other than your own come up?

What car do you have (year/model)? What audio system?

I went into the account and fixed all the names, because initially they were all under my name as I am the account owner. My daughter's caller ID seems fine, it is only my husband's ID that seems confused.

I searched for my number in Drupe contacts, but only my name came up. I searched for my name also to see if there were unwanted entries, but I found nothing. I then tried searching for my husband's name and number, but saw only what I expected in the address book. The car I use is a 2014 Toyota RAV4. I don't know what the audio system is, it's just whatever the default Toyota system is.

It is the Verizon cloud. It tends to mess up contacts. It mixed up my work contacts with my personal contacts. When I would text my daughter at college a co-workers name would come up. I had to go through my Verizon contact list and clean it up.

When you say, Verizon contact list, do you mean contacts stored on your phone vs out on Google?

Verizon Cloud. When it is backed up to the cloud.

Don't use the Verizon Cloud for backups.... They have always cause me nightmares with contacts not syncing properly and getting dupes.

I had this issue on other phones.... I stopped using Verizon Cloud for contacts and moved to the Google Cloud for everything. Problem gone.

I use CompanionLink to sync my Outlook and Google contacts.... Everything works perfectly...
