When I miss a call, it goes to voicemail. When I click on voicemail, it dials a phone number- somebody's cell number, so I don't get my voicemail. Nobody has been able to help me change the number that voicemail dials. Had this phone for 9 months, and can't get my voicemail.
Please, I can't jailbreak this. This is a stock Virgin Mobile LG Optimus V VM670 - was new, has always done this. Been harassing Virgin for months.
Can't afford a $70 a month plan, but paying $25 for a phone that can't do voicemail is stupid. HELP!!!

wow thats annoying. How is your voicemail being deleted? Maybe see what happens when you try a different vm app, like youmail(it's free) from the market.

Hmm well I'm not sure about fixing it but if you dial your vm number from your vm phone you can access your voice mail

Siomple way to get to voicemail.

In contacts setup a new entry (yes, use the star and space):
* Voicemail
Set the number as your own. The star will make sure it is always at the top of the list.
You can also use numbers and multiple stars to prioritize your contacts that way too.

if you dial YOUR OWN phone number it will take you to your voicemail.

for the problem, you probably got a refurbished OV. try clearing dialer data, if that doesnt work, its embedded somewhere deeper than that.

have you ever tried a factory reset on the stock rom???? might clear it up.

if youve been on the stock rom THIS long i can safely assume you dont really dig too deep into android, and might never have resetted or cleared data in any way on the phone.

I had the same problem briefly when I first signed up for Virgin, I called customer care and got elevated to their techs and the guy fixed the issue in no time.

He said it was related to my number not being ported in quite right in their system. This was well over a year ago, however.

Found out on Virgin's site that all it requires is for them to properly program the number in the system. At least, the user said it worked for them, but took months to get someone at Virgin to do it.

Fed up with snail-slow data, data drop outs, ridiculous service. Threw out the phone, went with T-Mobile and a Galaxy S ii, and am now happy from day one.
