Wug's Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit (HELP with Drivers!!!)

So I came across this toolkit for easy root for my Verizon Galaxy Nexus, here on this site (originally posted back in January) and I started to attempt to use the program on Windows and am doing the Initial Setup to Install the Drivers. I am running Windows XP and have followed all the steps, however, I keep running into problems installing the drivers. My device automatically configures as an ADB device, however, when I skip to step 4 and List ADB Devices, I do not get a serial number (which the program says you will if its done correctly), only a dialogue that says No ADB devices found. I have repeated steps 1-3 over and over again, and have even manually chosen drivers, with the same outcome. Any suggestions or thoughts on how to remedy this? Please help.

Thanks for the advice. I will check that root guide out. I hope it works out. You have the same 2 devices I have...I was particularly psyched about using Wug's Toolkit because this is my first ever attempt to Root...is there a comparably simple method for the VZW Galaxy Nexus using a Mac?

There's a simpler method. Download a folder, type in some commands, flash a zip, and you're done.

Have had no issues with other USB cables, using 2 that I got at a discount store and work just fine and too boot they are plugged into USB expander as all my desktop USB ports are in use.

That is one of my problems.... don't even have the USB cable that came with the phone....it malfunctioned weeks after getting the phone, and Verizon sent me one of theirs as a replacement. :(
