Wy am I unable to Delete, move, or copy files and why am I getting the error message the storage is write protected?

Unable to Delete, move, or copy files "the storage is write protected"

I am UNABLE to delete files, nor move files, or copy files from folder to folder to and from my Samsung Galaxy s4 when hooked up USB, EVERY TIME I try I get an error message "cannot delete the storage is write protected. remove write protection and try again" Google said "no results" with that error message in quotes with an added word "delete" not in quotes

Which folders are you trying to access? Not all of them can be manipulated--certain system folders are protected.

If they're folders that you should be able to access, then try booting into Recovery and wiping the cache partition: Reset: Samsung Galaxy S 4 | T-Mobile Support
