I have a X right now but my roommate has an upgrade but doesn't care what kind of phone she gets. Would I be crazy to give her my X and get the Inc2 or should I just keep my X and let her get whatever she wants? Is anything worth trading my phone for right now (free of charge to me, I would pay nothing but get a new phone?) Any suggestions??

go for the incredible 2, the x has proven to be problematic over time and that won't improve until gingerbread. even then there may be bigger problems. if i could do it over again i'd probably have purchased the incredible 1 instead of the x.

you're gaining performance and a front camera by going to the Dinc2, i wouldn't even hesitate if your roommate will trade.

Keep the X and let her get the Inc 2. Gingerbread is awesome on the X. I have yet to own an HTC phone that does not suck at battery life.

"Problematic?" The X for me has been the most reliable phone to date. I would stick with the X. The "grass" is not always greener on the other side! Hmmm.........Or maybe it is?

I played with the Dinc2 and was pretty impressed. The 4in screen was nice and it had a good feel to it. They are both good phones and I would get the dinc2 just to run CM7. It just comes down to personal preference. I wouldn't make a decision till you can play with it a little bit.

I really haven't had any issues with my Droid X, if the Incredible 2 has similar issues as the original one, users that I knew that owned one hated the devices performance.

Also I have to agree that the battery life on HTC devices has been terrible compared to the Droid X.

I would say stay with Droid X..

Get the dinc2 because it will have better roms as it probably has an unlocked bootloader apparently.

Unless you don't care about flashing ROMs (really just CyanogenMod) & you want a phone with good battery life, then get the Droid X.

Dinc2. Better processor. Front face camera. More RAM. It's a no-brainer. Even if you have to get a bigger battery. If you don't ROM, Sense is a much better skin than Blur.

I would personally go with the DI2. I currently have both the DI1 and the DX. With CM7 the DI1 is far better than the DX. The only downside that I can see it battery life. It is definatly worse but you learn to live with it.

I have had no issues with my dinc always glad I purchased it.The dx wasnt as well ,,,had issues with ( all known issues as reported on motorolla website)but rooting and custom rom fixed it.Dx on prerooted leaked GB(.588) so far has been good tho .
I would get the dinc2.I think a 4" screen is a good compromise between the 3.7" screen of the dinc and the 4.3" screen of the dx.
I have never had any problems with the dinc on battery life that wasnt easily solved. (and actually on CM7/ or skyraider4.0) I have great battery life, the difference is not that much different between the dx and dinc for me.I have extended batteries for both phones.

to be fair, i did buy an iPhone then re-sell it in 3 days because i love the X that much, and obviously i still have an X since i'm in this forum but let's call a spade a spade. go through this forum and just read the titles, then tell me this phone isn't filled with problems. you can't. and yes i do understand any phone will have issues but im getting tired at moto's lack of response.

the blur interface sucks, there isn't enough RAM, stock battery life is horrid and to be fair i do more battery pulls on this phone then i did on my blackberry storm! and this is after 2 replacement phones and multiple software changes form 2.2, 2.2.1, 2.3 to try and find a better OS. now to be fair 2.3 did work alot better but there were still problems and i'm trying to keep in mind that it wasn't a final release so time will tell.

if it's been reliable for you then you're lucky and i'd agree keep the X.

i would stick to the X. Like someone else said, I have yet to hear an htc device that has decent battery life.

although if you dont care about that, i'd opt for the D.Inc2

my coworker's EVO get's better battery life than a stock X (although not by much). i have 3 other coworkers who just got incredible 1's and they also get better battery life and they don't use juice defender or anything like that. i think it's a mixed bag for battery life. it's very tough to compare apples to apples since everyone uses different programs and has varying degrees of usage on their phone on any given day.

I have to admit that the X has been the most trouble free phone I've ever owned. My wife does like her Dinc 1, but its battery life is nowhere near that of my X. Also, she sometimes has times where the caller can't hear her, and she has to call the person back. This never happens with my X.

*You don't like Moto's lack of response
*Battery life horrid
*Blur interface sucks
*Not enough RAM
*Constant Battery pulls
*Multiple replacement phones
*Not happy with Multiple software changes

:( With that laundry list of complaints, I would have ditched the phone long ago!!!! Sounds like you are not happy with phone? If I may ask, why do you not get a new phone?

good question....i had bought the phone outright on ebay in October since i was not eligible for a new phone yet and wanted to hold out for the iphone but had to ditch my blackberry and at first i loved it (and i still do despite the complaints), and obviously i'm not the only one with these opinions and who has had these issues happen to them. i did buy an iphone on ebay last month to get rid of my x but unfortunately i realized very fast that the iphone just isn't as customizable, even with jailbreaking, plus i missed the size of the screen.

so now that the iphone has come and i've already ditched it i'm waiting for the next great android phone, and i'll likely go to the thunderbolt but given that i have to pay full price for it right now i'm waiting for prices to drop within reasonable amounts on ebay.

and like i said, nearly everyone on this forum has made one or more (or all) of the same complaints so it's a little silly to think that everyone who complains will dump their phones right away.

and i will repeat that i thought the leaked GB was great, but it had it's quirks and i'm hoping the full release is spectacular when it comes out. if that happens ill be pretty happy with the X again.

Well, I hope GB works out for you! If not the Thunderbolt sounds like a good option. As much as I depend on my phone for business, I would not be a happy camper if my phone did not perform to its fullest potential, and the X has been that for me.
