Long story short..tried to flash a file that was corrupt or at least not fully there. Now im stuck in limbo ( big red M ) and my battery died or at least decreased to the point where I cannot turn it on to even see the " M" and it says battery too low to program so I can not use RSD. I have left it on the wall charger for over an hour to no avail. I am putting it back on to charge to see what happens but things are not looking good for my X.

Any suggestions?

In this current state and in need of communication, are there any options w/ verizon?

What if I bought a new fully charged battery?

Basically just looking for a solution

The main issue is that the battery is dead, if you get a charged battery that has enough power you should be able to get the device in Bootloader and flash the stock Froyo SBF without issues...

Download from http://forum.androidcentral.com/motorola-x-rooting-roms-hacks/83583-updated-sbf-instructions-gb.html should get you a working version of the full SBF..

Thanks wildman! And just to be clear, are you saying that in its current state that my battery will not charge no matter how long it stays plugged in?

best thing to do is borrow or buy a new battery....
my first flash of GB failed also.... right after the red M logo. I saw a black screen with a white error message that would not go away.
RSD flash of stock froyo kept failing too... turned out I didn't have the latest drivers, and I needed to reboot the computer I was using. Re-downloaded the files and flashed no problem.

Thats correct, the driver for that hardware doesn't work in Bootloader mode, most users that experience this charged battery in external charger or bought a spare..

New or charged battery should do the trick. Had the same problem. Are you runningwindows 7? I couldn't get red lite to work for me with 7 so I ended up installing Linux. Worked without a hitch.

OK thanks for the tips guys! Ill head into town today and see if there is a Verizon store open today (holiday!) and either buy a new battery or external charger for my existing battery and try it all again.

ENZOEM - do you mean the latest motorola drivers or something else?

LIons80 - I am running windows 7 thru fusion on my mac. Is this a no go and do I need to find another way to run RSD lite?

yup... .the motorola drivers... make sure you have the latest ones... I would post the links I used but was up til 5am the other day saving my phone and was on a ton of forums and youtube sites

OK so Ive got a full battery juiced up but it seems there is something else going on. Im running fusion on a mac w/ windows 7 and keep getting an instant " flashing process failed" as soon as I click start on RSD. All programs and drivers should be up to date.
is it fusion, is it windows 7 or something completely else?

Seems a PC could realyy help right now but being memorial day I'm a little SOL! Any thoughts?

Fusion is your problem!

I had the same issues with my blackberry and my X. There is something about how usb connects that causes it to not reconnect during the process...

Either use bootcamp or get a pc.

Actually just got RSD to work by moving the SBF file to drive c: seemed to do the trick! I am now back on stock and ready to upgrade to GB!!

Glad you got it worked out! Be wary of sbf'ing tho on a virtual machine...you could run into troubles down the road
