Question Xaomi Mi 9 No factory reset option

My old Xaomi Mi 9 recently started to get sluggish. As it is 5 years old decided to replace it with Samsung S24. Now I need to wipe the old phone and trade it in.
All searches state use the backup/Reset in Settings.
My phone has only backup and restore.
Can someone advise on what I am doing wrong.

Go into settings then search (top of screen) and search for factory reset.
You also need to remove your device from your account.
Go to 1.mi.com to delete it.
