My phone prompted me to update Android (Feb 25th). I did this and subsequently my phone gets as a far as the AndroidOne splash screen and then goes no further. I understand ADB can get me in to Recovery Mode, but my knowledge is very sketchy.

1. I can get in to Fastboot (Power - Vol Down), but not Recovery Mode (Power - Vol Up)
2. I've installed ADB and Fastboot on my Windows PC along with the relevant Android drivers (I think).
3. Fastboot sees the phone and I can control it, but it's locked so there is no Flashing options.
4. ADB doesn't detect any devices

I'm really at the very end of my knowledge about this. Any thoughts?

Search the web for the update file and flash it manually. Or search for the current ROM file, make sure it doesn't wipe out user data and flash that. (It would appear that you have a system that was corrupted by the update.)

If you bought the phone from a carrier, you could always ask the carrer to fix it, otherwise you could ask Xiaomi to fix it.

Same thing had happened to me, with a brand new device (fresh from the store); either when going from 8.x to Pie, or a minor update, can't even recall.

Was able to start it with just a combo of buttons, maybe both volumes pressed down and power - something like that. :)

Mi A2 "jasmine" Global ROM Android One

(Posting this info because this has apparently been happening; but, it's always considered best practice to Factory Data Reset before - and after - each update /and especially upgrade)

EDIT: Ofc., don't forget to FIRST enable Developer options and: 1) USB debugging & 2) OEM unlocking. Just in case. xD
