XCam LG - improved camera APP for G2

thanks, will try it out. The stock app is embarrassing to use in low light - hoping this is a big improvement!

Has anyone tested out the advanced version with the custom drivers? I'm curious as to what functionality it adds. I would test it out myself but I can't find instructions on how to install the custom drivers. Downloaded the zip file but didn't know what to do from there.

Installed version for non rooted ROM and bought advanced settings app.
It ads what I've really needed : silent mode, better photos in low light conditions and memorizing settings after restarting of the camera app.
This is how photo looks in the low light conditions, under ordinary light bulb.

Hi,

Good news: xdabbeb's camera MOD is now available as normal app (no root required) in xda-developers' forum.
I've tested it and low-light performance is much better than stock camera (I use 'Intelligent Auto' mostly).
Take a look, hope you find it useful.

So I can install this on a new out of box g2 from AT&T? No root or unlock required?

Yes you can install on non-rooted phone. It works just fine and is actually better than stock camera.

That makes the g2 tempting now since I just wanted the new camera tech on the g3. The g2 would be much cheaper option

I won't be able to post any URLs until I reach the 10-post count.
I've sent it as PM, check out your mbox.

I downloaded this mainly to get a higher bitrate while recording 4k. and i guess the higher FPS for 1080p is nice.

have any of you tested how far you can push it and still get reliable video? i did a sample at 30mb and 40mb, they seemed to both average around 5mb per second. is their a sweet spot for size to quality.

i am having 1 issue, the Xcam app will NOT record video to the external card. it will only record to the internal, then i have to move the video over. it is an older 16gb class 4 card. though i have a newer class 10 64gb i have yet to put into my phone, will this solve that problem? am i missing something else?

side question, is there any way to record 4k at 60fps? or is that more of a hardware limitation? (i am assuming the current 4k records at 30fps)

I think you should post those questions in the original XCam thread at xda-developers forums, so the author (xdabbeb) or any other could answer them.
