Anyone else on Xfinity mobile? I've been told the Unlocked S20 Ultra from Samsung WILL be compatible as a BYOD on march 6th (launch day). So even if i get it a day or 2 early from Samsung I can't use it until the 6th LOL

This is different than the Note 10+. Had to "SIM ghost" the BYOD Note 10+ to make it work on Xfinity. By ghosting I mean, take the sim from your old phone and put it in the Note 10+. Phone works fine, but the Xfinity system still thinks I have my Note 8 ahaha

How do you like their cell service? I've been on Verizon forever and thinking about making a change

Why does it matter what phone they think you have? Just move the Sim card and you are done. I have sim cards on t mobile that have been through 6 or 7 different phones without ever telling t mobile which phone they were on

For me its great. I use less than 1GB of data a month. So my bill is 12.00 a month plus tax so around 14. I've heard people say they have slow speeds during peak times, but I'm usually on wifi during peak times. They have the unlimited plan if you use a lot of data but its slowed after 20GB or something. You can always try it and if it doesn't work for you go back to Verizon. But for me its been great and I love paying 12/mo vs 70 bucks or so for a single line on one of the big three.

I guess it becomes an issue if you want to switch plans ever. With xfinity if you think you might go over 1GB for the month you can switch to unlimited and then go back. Nothing wrong with wanting to do it the "right" way, and nothing worng with doing it the other way if thats what you want.

Exactly what kind of ****ed up nineties system/technology they have that you can't swap SIMs and good to go as long as phone is compatible. Now even on Verizon we can do that without Verizon having to do stuff and we just swap SIMs. I believe they are Verizon MVNO and surprised you can't just swap SIMs.

Excellent. I have both services. I was hoping to migrate everything over to Xfinity from Verizon but I've been dragging my feet.

I just checked the IMEI on the Xfinity mobile website. My S20 Ultra (unlocked from Samsung) now comes back as compatible for BYOD. Yesterday it still said it was a no go, but today its a go!!!!

Got the unlocked S20U activated ins tore this morning with no issue. Well one issue, this was the 3rd BYOD I have done. Orignal with the Note8, then the Note10+, and now the S20U. He said you're only supposed to be able to do 1 BYOD ever, and next time I will have to buy the phone from them. I said or I could go to a different carrier, and get another internet and cable company after being a comcast customer for 20 years. He understood LOL Told him if they will give the deals like Samsung does, I would have no problem buying from them.

Wow that sucks. Limit of 1 byod? I'm sure many are unaware of that. Good thing you got a nice rep.

Xfinity Mobile is on Verizon's network, but they somehow restrict certain phones from their network, in the same way Visible does (another Verizon MVNO). This hasn't been widely tested though but apparently if you don't use one of Xfinity Mobile or Visible's approved phones, you're going to have network problems.

You'd be better off getting Verizon's prepaid plan directly through Verizon. You can get unlimited talk/text and 16gb of data direct through Verizon prepaid right now, and there's no compatible phone list like with Xfinity Mobile or Visible. I know it's not the "unlimited" data of Xfinity Mobile or Visible, but your speeds will be faster, and 16GB is basically unlimited data unless you stream a lot of video.

Luckily I don't rely on data. I use about 500MB a month, so my bill is 12.00 a month. I've never had a problem with netwrok issues when I have needed data. And the unlocked Ultra is "approved" by Xfinity. The Note 10+ was not but everything still worked. It has since made the approved list. The ultra was not "approved" until Thursday night. Verizons prepaid 1GB plan is 30 bucks, 6gb is 35, 16 gb is 45, unlimited is 65.... no thanks

Just like how AT&T limits features in unlocked models. It's their way of making customers buy from them or their branded devices so they get their money. Greedy for sure.
