Xgear Spectre Tempered Glass Screen Protector

My oldest son recently mentioned that Xgear was advertising a new improved tempered glass screen that had better adhesive and no grid star pattern problems. I emailed about a replacement and they said they would send one out. I got it today and it is as promised. As good as the original and without the grid pattern. I am very pleased with the new screen and with the customer support by Xgear.

I have been back and forth with customer support at xgear over issues of the dots and the proximity sensor, which is an issue at least on the old pebble blue model. It does work most of the time in visible light, but in a dark room it frequently fails. I have to say that customer support at xgear has been TERRIBLE and they have not said one way or another if they will replace it with the "improved" version. Their website was also claiming a new version without the dots and when I emailed them about it, they said oh that's only the white one, the blue one still has the dots. What a shady website! They didn't disclose anywhere on their site that it was only the white one that didn't have dots anymore. They claim they stand behind their product, but I have not seen it in action. Very disappointed with them

I too have the pebble blue phone and Xgear glass screen. They did say only the white version was having proximity issues. I responded by explaining that I was having issues with the grid/star burst screen and lack of tactile response to the home and return buttons on the bottom of the phone. The fellow from Xgear then said he would send a replacement which as I mentioned above he did.

After using the new version of the Xgear tempered glass screen I can say all of the original complaints have been corrected in my blue version. I do notice that the glass seems to be just a tiny bit thicker than the original version but not enough to cause me any issues. It does however rise above the surface of some slim line style cases which may be an issue for some. I don't rest my phone face down so it isn't an issue for me.

I now have the Xgear glass screen on my S4. This version of the screen is clear edge to edge and rests on the phone screen. Installation was simple and all bubbles came out easily by brushing with the squeegee supplied. The edges are beveled even more nicely than for the S3 version. A meal stick on "over button" of the correct color was supplied but I find the recessed home button to be an advantage as it can't be depressed accidently so I didn't install it.
Unfortunately, Xgear says they have not plans for providing a similar glass screen for the Galaxy Note 8.
