Android Central Question

i have this xgody tablet 10.1 screen has 5.1.1 on it and it is v11 model. i got it power washed and all i put back on it was tinycam pro and tiny cam free plus yousee for apps the battery is charge full. it runs all day as i use it for monitoring my cameras. but what is going on is when it either gets updates or after they are done i think dins as the notice say can't update as memory is full. i have 16gb in the tablet and a 32gb so i do not understand that message. but anyway all i got the tablet for was the cameras so what i need to do is get it to stop turning off the screen when this happens. it also has a message about google things. the drop down says 3 new messages from google and then can't update app. your device doesn't have enough space.

so maybe if i can fix the space issue then the screen will remain on. or if i can get that notice turned off. i have turned off all the rest i could find.

i have all the storage information i can send if some needs to see it to help with storage issues. thanks bp.

It's possible that the Internal Storage is partitioned into a small App Installation area and a larger "Internal SD." This could lead to the device having very little available storage to install or update any more apps.

i got it power washed
You washeda tablet? Chances are that water got into it, so it's not going to last very long, so I wouldn't worry about it.

But with the next one you buy, be aware that updates can only be done to internal storage, so no matter how large an SD card you have, if you're saving the videos from the cameras, either set the app to save them to the SD card (and get a much larger card - 32GB won't hold as much video as you probably want to keep), or periodically copy them to the SD card, then delete them from internal storage. (And eventually the card will run out of space, so you'll have to start copying the oldest ones to a PC or a cloud account and deleting them from the card.)

so for some reason i get 2 warnings to delete or disable youtube and google calendar but when i do the tablet fails to run . i tried to do a factory reset. can't say powerwash or some smartass will just have something stupid to say
but it just does not want to factory reset. anyone know the proper way on the xgody v11 tablet to do the factory reset?

i hold the power and vol dn not good power vol up no good power and vol up then let off power no good same for vol dn.

so i turn off youtube and now i det the youtube stopped and it will not go past that. in order to do this i have to change the password on my modem to letters the xgody will see and then 1 tap at a time to change password in the table until i go to palystor and turn on youtube again this take like an hour to do. any one have an idea. thanks bp

I assumed the OP meant a factory reset (like the Powerwash option on a Chromebook).

Quite possibly, but that ought to be written “Powerwash” rather than “power washed”, lest it cause confusion...which is exactly what it has done. Like @Rukbat, I assumed that the OP meant power washing, since I had not heard of Powerwash.

must be you guys have not ever used the chromebook. it is android 100% and even in my phone manual is says powerwash. but you need read the post. not much different powerwash or power washed and goodl like power washed being i get a mispelling form google when i say powerwash. and we are talking about an electronic device here why in the world would i want to wash it in anything anyway? you guys must not be understanding the issue.

must be you guys have not ever used the chromebook
Yes, I have.

it is android 100%
No, it is not. It is ChromeOS, a more specific version of the Chromium project, and open source OS.

even in my phone manual is says powerwash
My Pixel, a phone from Google, does not say this. This is the wording of the OEM of your device.

you guys must not be understanding the issue.
Misreading posts happens all the time. It depends on a lot of factors, sometimes, what you last read. @Rukbat often helps out with people who get liquid damage to their phones. It may be possible that he inadvertently brought a thought process to this thread.

so for some reason i get 2 warnings to delete or disable youtube and google calendar but when i do the tablet fails to run

This is the part that interests me -- why would it tell you to delete or disable YouTube and Google Calendar? What does the message say exactly? Is it warning you that those apps might be malicious? Or is it telling you that those apps are using too much battery or memory?

anyone know the proper way on the xgody v11 tablet to do the factory reset?

If you go to the system settings, is there an option for Backup & Reset? If so, does the factory reset option there not work?

so i turn off youtube and now i det the youtube stopped and it will not go past that. in order to do this i have to change the password on my modem to letters the xgody will see and then 1 tap at a time to change password in the table until i go to palystor and turn on youtube again this take like an hour to do.

How did you turn off YouTube -- do you mean you Disabled the app in the Settings>Apps menu? What do you mean by changing the password on your modem? Are you talking about the wi-fi password in your router's settings? Is this because the tablet doesn't want to connect to the wi-fi network any more?

Regarding the whole Powerwash thing, I've only ever seen that term used for Chromebooks, not Android devices. Android devices get factory reset, not Powerwashed. So you're right, to a certain extent -- we were misunderstanding the issue because of the unusual term that was being used. If your manual uses that term, it shows that the manufacturer has a poor understanding of terminology (or a poor English translator).

i would get a popup telling me that youtube stopped. i click ok and it comes back. so in between hitting to ok and the message returning i would get a chance to tap something.

i could not use the modems password because when i entered some numbers the tablet changed them. so i had to go into the modem and change its password to something the xgody liked. then after that i went to playstore and there i had to undisable youtube and as soon as i did the message went away. then i went back to my modem and changed the password back so my other devices would be able to you it.

then i was able to go into the tablet settings and to factory reset and from there i reset it and started all over. it actually took 4 time of resetting before those 2 messages about youtube and the google calendar went away. i don't think that took care of the issue i think it will return again soon. it did before.

does this make sense to you now. thanks

Do YouTube and Google Calendar come preinstalled on this device, or do you have to install them yourself?

When you tried to enter numbers in the wi-fi password and you said the tablet changed them, are you saying that the character that showed up was immediately the wrong character? Or that after typing the whole password string, the characters suddenly changed? Does the keyboard seem to have trouble typing things accurately outside of the wi-fi password entry field?
