Well I'm running the AoSp gingerbread rom with clockworkmod 3.0.0.6.

I've been dying to get back to a 2.2 rom due to the lack of MMS on this rom.

Everytime i try flashing into Xionia Recovery, I get this error message:

Any ideas? I messaged a few devs and their methods still brung me to this error message .. Anyone out there who had this problem and resolved it? Thanks :)

Are you able to boot into recovery mode?

Also not sure if this is related but CWM 3.0.0.6 does not work properly on my optimus v i can flash a rom but it will never boot until i adb shell and reflash with xionia recovery.

No i cannot, that is what happens and stays when i try flashing Xionia recovery. But if i flash CWM again, it does boot into recovery.

Have you tried.

adb shell erase_image misc
adb shell erase_image persist
adb reboot recovery

I ran across a discussion about this. Check THIS thread, I believe it's around post #20. May or may not help but it's another lead. Cheers.

If you are still having problems with the recovery (fastboot) you can flash the recovery from fastboot.

Could you pls help me in downloading erase_image file for using adb...Immediately required...

Huh?? You flash over an existing recovery. Use the flash GUI app erase .img files in a file explorer app then..Backup first!

Download flash_image.zip, extract it, & copy it to /sdcard/flash_image.
flash_image.zip

Then through 'adb shell' or a terminal:

# su
# mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock5
# cat /sdcard/flash_image > /system/bin/flash_image
# chmod 755 /system/bin/flash_image
# mount -o ro, remount /dev/block/mtdblock5
# flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
# reboot recovery

Just saying fastboot is only supported on HTC devices, I've never seen it work on any other manufacturer. The above directions are the recommended for flashing it and I suggest you use them.

Actually I'll simplify it.
1) Download flash_image and move to /system/bin
2) Set perms to rwxrw-rw- (755)
3) Place recovery.img onto root of sdcard
4) open terminal
5) Type su
6) Type flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img

Alternatively you can download flash image gui from its xda thread or you can purchase it from the market the opti s and it's variants are supported.
