Xoom is #1 selling tablet on Amazon.

Awesome article thanks for sharing it's nice to see the xoom getting some love. It was released at a price point that was to high even though I bought one. Now with the wifi model and multiple carriers it should do well.

Woohoo! Glad I helped make this possible! :D
Thanks for posting!

Well the ipad 2 has had some serious issues in manufacturing enough to meet demand. But I do love my xoom and even some hardcore apple sheep have been very impressed the capabilities and customization of it I have shown off. I think something dies in them when they see the customization options available and they would kill just to be able to use Widgets.

You are so right, they aren't selling this

No, they aren't. Those are "marketplace" sellers, in other words people who bought an iPad 2 to resell it at a profit, and every one of them is more than Apple retail price.

When/if Amazon themselves actually get the iPad 2 to sell then we'll see which sells better.

Personally I'm still on the fence; I wanted a Xoom until I saw the mediocre (at best) screen. I'm a big Motorola fan after using their radios for 15+ years in the fire service, but why didn't they put a decent screen on the thing, especially at that price?

The screen is fine. I really don't understand the complaints with the screen. I love it. Sure, it's not quite as bright as the iPad, but who cares?

I agree! The Xoom is the only tablet I have personally used that has better build quality than the iPad.

I love my Xoom, I really do, but there's at least one glaring issue inside the Xoom that, while it hasn't affected many people yet(I've only seen a few on XDA), it will start affecting more and more... The touch screen controller is only held to the metal frame by sticky adhesive, it's not sticky enough to survive even a modest drop, will cause all kinds of issues with touch responsiveness when the board comes unstuck from the frame... My Xoom has taken beyond 'modest' drops though and I'm shocked it keeps on trucking besides having to fix the touch screen controller issue myself.

Is this true?

It's not fine. It's dull, colour reproduction is relatively poor, and there's a significant amount of ghosting when you have black images moving against lighter backgrounds (ie scrolling on white web pages with dark photos). You can see small black/blue trails left behind as it moves, like the black is bleeding into the white.

The issues may not affect your enjoyment of the device but it's very noticeable and disappointing for those of us who are accustomed to better quality screens.

I haven't noticed any glaring faults with the screen. My issues aren't hardware related beyond the lack of SD functionality, and even that is more of a software issue. The screen serves my purposes.

I wouldn't trade my xoom for any of the crappy tablets out there, I've owned three of the newest android,ipad1and the Playbook (which btw is very nice but couldn't get one without a stuck or dead pixel) and nothing comes close to the quality that Motorola put into the xoom. None of the new tablets don't even offer a simple notification light.

Yes there's ghosting on the xoom display but only on scrolling web pages and only on certain instances as someone mentioned, games, movies everything else looks fantastic. I prefer this over light bleed anyday.

Once you get a xoom in your hands you'll see the differance in quality compared to the others. Samsung 10.1 looks even cheaper ( at least the one they gave away at IO)
