xoom on contract

I've just bought xoom MZ601 with 3G on 24mts contract here in United Kingdom with Talkmobile.
My question is if I unlock the xoom, will the navigation work without the data sim in it aboard?
Will Talkmobile find out what I have donen? If so what are the implications?
Can I still carry on using the Talkmobile data sim after unlocking?

Any advice is appreciated.

I'm curious about this. My sim is only for LTE i believe, so I'm not sure I could unlock it and use it elsewhere unless they have LTE sims wherever I'd go.

Yes, but you'd need a new Pci card and rom to go with it. SBF, preferrably.
