Xoom to get Netflix?

Ok I believe this has been covered on here before. But anyway the way it works out is the reason Android does not have Netflix is the lac of DMR. It has nothig to do with the processor or hardware. They are working on incorporating DRM into 2.3 as well as 3.0 and all future versions of Android software. So sometime by Q2 there will be a netflix program available in the store for you to download. So if you have a phone that is getting 2.3 or plan on buying a new phone that has or will get 2.3.

You do realize there will be one big issue with streaming netflix on your Xoom. Unless you opt for the 10gb 80$ a month plan or are using wifi then you will burn through your allotment of GB with only one or 2 movies...

And if you are wondering why all those other devices have Neflix is because as someone already pointed out they are locked up tighter than a drum and incorporated DRM. Thats what you gain or lose for openness..

Thanks for the info. Concerning the data plan, I don't think you'll need that much data unless you plan on watching a lot of movies and, I mean a lot. Movies do eat up bandwidth but, 5GB would be enough for me, maybe even 3GB.

With my Ipad, I intentionally tried to see how much data I could use on the 2GB plan and, it took more than I thought. I watched a few movies and streamed NFL games with Sunday ticket and still didn't use it up. I got to about 1800 MB. I also watched youtube videos and regular browsing.

I guess it just depends on the individual. I mostly used my data when I was out of town or on the road. I watched a few movies at home just to try and use it up.

That is kind of surprising because I use 3gb per month on my phone and I don't stream movies or anything.

However, I guess if you use wifi to stream there would be no worry there!
