Anyone know what the correct resolution for xoom wallpaper should be?
I know the screen is 1280x800 but since the wallpaper pans slightly as you move from screen to screen, it seems like the wallpaper should be a bit larger. I moved a few 1280x800 wallpapers over to try, and I could not set the entire image as a wallpape. I had to crop it.
If anyone knows where the included wallpapers are stored, they should be in the proper resolution, but I can't find them either.

If I had to guess I would say 1280x1600 because that would fit with the normal android convention for wallpaper sizes

just checked again and the resolution is 1920 x 1408 like I said

Can you provide some proof or at least an explanation of how you came to your conclusion, you seem pretty confident but I'm just skeptical because 1408 is pretty random

well the honeycomb wallpaper size is 1920 x 1408 and I also made a picture that same exact size and put it on my xoom to check and what do you know the picture fit :)

Well I did my own digging and found that the resolutions vary, some of the default wallpapers are 1920x1408 and some are 1920x1280, next time you should be more thorough and less overconfident

I checked ALL of the default wallpapers personally so that should clear that up

i have tried many 1920x1280 pictures and none of them work only resolution that has worked for me is 1920x1408

Now I'm a little perplexed

I tried some different wallpapers and it seems that it does prefer the 1920x1408 but that is also going to crop some of the image because when held in portrait the screen only displays 1280 of those 1408 pixels

Essentially the wallpaper SHOULD be 1920x1280 but when you go to select/crop it the selection box gives you a fuss about it, almost seems likes a mistake on Google's part if you ask me

Either way you are going to lose pixels, on one hand 1920x1408 loses them in portrait because the screen displays 1280 of the 1408 pixels, on the other hand 1920x1280 loses them in landscape because it wont allow you to select them, kinda stupid really

I'm starting to thin you're right about the cropping being messed up. Be nice if they would add an auto crop option that would use the greatest area of the image possible.

Yeah I don't truly know what Google's plan was but it seems like its a little off, plus the selection box for cropping seems like something that could easily be over-looked

I wish it wouldn't crop the photo at all. It looks good already full screen but, Android forces you to crop it. It's one of the things I don't like about Android and I wish they would change it.
