To anyone using this phone on at&t, are you having any problems with messaging? For some reason I can never get a text to my wife through unless I type in her number each time or use Google Now & I am having problems receiving MMS sometimes. I have yet to be able to send an MMS period. So I'm curious what APN any others are using and if they are working for you. Thanks!

Stay away from any apn with "Cingular" in it. The apn I have above should work the fastest for you as well.

Thanks! I'll give that APN a try and see what happens. It is very similar to another one I had tried out but not exactly the same so hopefully will work. It seems like the only person I have had a problem sending texts to has been my wife - I tried several other friends and they have all replied each time (this was using the APN AT&T Customer Service gave me, which had Cingular addresses) but for whatever reason my wife does not get my texts - unless I begin a brand new text and type in her number, that has usually worked. But if I go into an existing thread and just reply & send she will not receive the message.

Well I still have the same problems of: if I start a new text and type in my wife's number it will send but if I go to the existing text thread and email from there she doesn't get it.

Also unable to send mms to her.

I'll keep trying though!

To anyone interested: I STILL have issues texting my wife and ONLY her. Every other person I've tried everything works just fine but hers is messed up. I've deleted her contract several times but there is still an issue so nowI have 2 text threads to her: one I can text from- it only has what I send to her in it and one has all her responses.

They are both for the same contact and # so don't know how they don't automatically integrate with one another but they don't. If I try to send from the thread with het responses I always get a message to send to the 10 digit # - this is because the phone is adding a 1 to the start so it is sending to: 11##########

But I send from the other thread and it works even though it is four the sane contact and same number. Weird

Can someone explain the difference between the C6602 and C6603? I purchased and received a Xperia Z C6602 from Sony online. I live in the US and my carrier is AT&T, however, to date I have not been able to get the data to work with my sim. I have tried everything I've seen here and have spoken to AT&T tech support 4 times. I originally had a BB plan which they changed to a regular internet plan and then to a 4G data plan. Now I get E which I take it means EDGE which I cannot live with, speedtest results are too slow to mention. I am OK without LTE but was at least expecting 3G. Any suggestions.

What handset does your wife have and are you both with the same carrier? It sounds like she may have ticked a setting in the message settings that is requesting the reply via her service centre, that is why you can send a fresh text but can't reply to a the old thread. She'll need to make sure "reply path" isn't ticked, then you'll need to delete the thread and start from fresh.

Hope this helps.

Thanks but it didn't work, still getting E.

Get AT&T to remove the data product and reapply it, it may not have been provisioned correctly.

Finally got H+, had to select WCDMA(preferred)/GSM in Network Mode. Thanks to all who tried to help.
