Bosshawk, thank you very much for the solution!. Changing the APN protocol fixed this problem for me too. I found that using the iPv4/iPv6 setting also works and preserves the capability to use iPv6 addresses.
Ever since the 5.1 update, my phone was chronically losing it's T-Mobile data connection. Sony was of absolutely no help. They had me preform unnecessary hard resets and reinstall the OS. When this failed to solve the problem, they told me I had to send the phone in for service. It was evident that their technical support team really doesn't know much. They're just reading from a list and are absolutely clueless about troubleshooting.
Though T-Mobile provides the APN settings, there is a bug in Sony's coding, which they've failed to identify, that is causing this problem. Very happy with Sony hardware, but the company SUCKS!
