I have linked my yahoo email to my Rezound. When I delete email son the web, it does not synch on the rezound. Defeats the purpose if can't stay in synch. Anyone else having this issue???

It seems lots of folks have general sync issues with Yahoo Mail. I am one of them. This really has been the biggest disappointment of this phone. This is a smartphone, it should be able to do basic yahoo e-mail sync. Luckily my yahoo mail is just personal stuff and not tied to any business, otherwise it could very well be a deal breaker. I'm just surprised there has been no fix for it. I tried Enhanced Email, but that one isn't polling for new mails so I have to manually open it and then it checks, even though i have it set to "push". I'm hoping for a fix from HTC or yahoo soon. Not sure exactly who is the culprit as I had similar issues on my Samsung Charge.

I had issues with my Yahoo not syncing as well. What I did was delete that account off the phone (new Droid razr) and downloaded the Yahoo mail app. It seems to be working fine and I actually prefer this set up much better anyway. Hope this helps.

I found the Yahoo app drained too much of my battery so I added my Yahoo account to K-9. I have it set to poll every 15 minutes and it works great.

I was having the same issue with my hotmail account, so I sent a email to HTC asking about the issue - their response is below:

Thank you for your inquiry regarding your Hotmail account on your HTC Rezound device from Verizon Wireless.

AA, I infer that your Hotmail account is a POP3 account on your phone.

The Mail application on our phones originally would keep a copy of all POP3 messages on the phone, even when deleted from the server.

When the devices were first updated to 2.2 firmware, the Mail application was changed to fix this issue, i.e., deleting mail from the server would delete the message from the phone as well.

Many customers did not like how the Mail application was changed, and as a result, the Mail application was changed again to behave as it did originally, i.e., if you delete a message from a POP3 server, the mail will stay on the phone.

This means that users must manually delete messages from the phone, or the messages will remain on the phone as long as the account is set to check mail on the server (default = 3 days).

In addition, POP3 folders on your device do not correspond to the folders for your account, nor do they reflect the account folders. Our native Mail application contains four folders: Inbox, Sent, Draft, and Trash.

If I have not addressed your concern, please include in your response a more detailed description of the issue, and specify whether your account is set up as a POP3 or an IMAP4 account. In addition, please include the IMEI and MEID of your device. To obtain this information, press Home > MENU and then tap Settings > About phone > Phone identity.

We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced.

To fix this issue and still be able to use the native email app built into the Rezound, I set-up my hotmail account using the "Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync" option. Now it sync's and works perfectly. You might have to search around to get the settings just right, but it's worth the effort to centralize your emails in one place.

Good Luck!

I use K-9 mail too but for AOL accounts that would not sync. K-9 works well but I still want the native email application to work.

IIRC Yahoo email will not allow you to set it up as an IMAP account. I just use the Yahoo mail app and in the past year havent experienced any problems. However tonight after the OTA I noticed that it stopped syncing

The yahoo mail app has worked on and off over the last year. When its on, its great, but when its off...UGH! So, switch to Maildroid and all will be well. Been using that for my Yahoo (personal) and IMAP (business) accounts since last March and its almost perfect. You don't have to deal with the "polling" crap of K9 and I've tried both TONS of times and Maildroid ALWAYS gets the Yahoo emails quicker.

Download the Maildroid app for free and set it up using the AUTO setup which will set up Yahoo as an IMAP account. That's it. No worries. No issues. At least for me anyway. Plus, if you have any issues with anything, email the developer and he'll respond not a week from now, but probably later that day.

My two cents...

Good luck!
