Android Central Question

How do I unlock the bootloader without access to the OS on the device to 'Enable USB debugging' and 'OEM Unlock'? Most guides' steps assume your device is working.

I have acquired a YB1-X90F that just shows the orange Lenovo splash screen and or a blank and does nothing.
I'm a novice when it comes to flashing, etc.
I can access Fast Boot and Recovery Mode.
I've tried 'wipe data/factory reset'.
What should I be trying?
I managed to get up ADB. It took a while to sort the driver out.

Best place to check is XDA forums

Yes, I've visited XDA. I've posted several places now with zero replies. iFixit, Reddit/Reddit, XDA and now here. (Links.)

Welcome to AC!

Look at some articles at xda if no responded , I found this there https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...sh-back-to-stock-rom-6-0-1-downgrade.3709930/

Looks like you'll need a flash tool to flash , you shouldn't need unlock bootloader if your flashing stock firmware

I'll try and have a big read of various pages.

I saw that thread (before posting at places) and quickly tried it --following the steps but had the same issue as this user: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ock-rom-6-0-1-downgrade.3709930/post-86329065

I'll give it another go tomorrow.

Thanks.
Watch some YouTube video also to get familiar ,download the tool to flash it shouldn't be that difficult once u start it and get same version firmware that way no problems

Take a look at this video , put on mute lol

Ha, mute is a must. Crazy, someone actually asked what the song was in the comments. That was semi-helpful, but mine is Intel. I believe I have to use the Intel Flash Tool, which of course gives the locked error.

I did ask on the main android section of XDA (no response), and some responses on android.stackexchange. Maybe I'm asking wrong? I can't think where else to ask. I've actually had the most response here, so thank you for that.

Cheers.

Haha .. didn't see the comment section

Try to gather more information as much as u can in xda from other people solution and maybe other sites Google it see can help u in any way , I use to do that myself back in the day when I wasn't getting much help and learned as I go was lot of trial and error but was stubborn to learn and get it going.

Thats great 👍

Sadly the update that includes Android N (not sure of the exact version numbers--I wasn't paying attention) bricks it for some reason, back to how it was when I opened this thread.

That's updates from within the android too.

At least I now know how to get it back into a working state...
