Hey hey.
So I thought burn in might be reduced with how the navigation bar now works with full gestures. Sometimes transparent and other times still a black strip.
Watching YouTube at night and along with all the black crushing and a grey part of the video,I could clearly see my nav bar and pill burnt in.

Oh well I guess it'll never change until they fully hide or use an auto hide setting with the nav bar.

Anyone else have any burn in of sorts? Or even black crushing? Crush seems a lot worse than previous pixels now... Ugh..

I didn’t on my old Pixel. I’ve not seen any chatter about it so I’m assuming it’s not prevalent. I’m curious if others have had any.

What's crushing?

What's crushing?

I assume it's when you're scroll past a black section on your screen and the black section appears to "smear". I noticed it a bit when I first got the phone, but I've either gotten used to it or it's been fixed via updates (if that's possible).

Thanks for clarifying.

Thanks for clarifying.

Black crushing is when you watch a video or whatever and all of the black/dark areas of the video lose detail. It just becomes a black blotchy mess and you cannot make anything out very well in those areas.
Smearing is when you scroll and dark parts of the screen leave a quick trail behind them.
All of these are usually more noticeable in dim to dark lighting. Like in bed or similar.
