Has anyone noticed that the screen off memos that are now yellow, also appear yellow on a white background in Samsung notes? It makes it very difficult to read. Is there any way I can change either the default color in screen off memos or the background and color in Samsung notes?

the color of the phone affects this, the ocean blue with yellow stylus is set to write in yellow, while the purple phone writes screen off in purple.

I tried the pen of one on the other and it's not pen based.

If you go to advanced features spend settings then screen off memo you can turn off the "write in signature color". This returns it to the off white previous versions used which snote converts to black.

This is a total oversite by Samsung, I expect it will be an easy software update fix. Yellow on white is readable but stupid. Until then turn off this "feature" on the blue phones.

Go into settings/advanced features/S Pen/Screen off memo/make sure use S pen signature colour is turned off.
It will change S pen colour back to how it was on the Note 8, black on white background.

Thanks guys. Screen off memo is a critical feature for me and having to constantly skim through yellow on white notes would of been a major PITA. It's good that you could disable it.

For existing notes.
Export to Gallery - > Edit, increase color / contrast etc. (i was using Google Photos for editing)

I'm so happy that Samsung changed the settings. I'm now able to take my notes in my signature color when I pull out the stylus. This is cool since purple is my favorite color. And by changing the setting to save my notes in black, when I go into Samsung Notes later the writing is black on white.

yeah this setting is provided and it's great...right in yellow...and then saved in black in notes

For benefit of anyone else who ends up here with this problem--

- Go to Settings.Advanced features.S Pen.Screen off memo
- Ensure that Use S Pen signature color is ON
- Go to Samsung Notes
- Open Samsung Notes Settings
- Tap the hamburger button
Actually, I have two: the original hamburger menu with three lines at top left, and a reduced one consisting of three vertical dots at top right. The one with the lines at top left is the one you need.
- Then tap the gear icon at the top of the menu
- Under SCREEN OFF MEMO, select Pen color for saved notes, then select Black
- Go make a new screen- off note
- Voila! It's saved in black text on white.
