To look up if my phone is safe.. is Samsung going to do this? if so, my phone will never leave my hands.. I love my phone ... Obviously if it is from a bad batch I will swap it \m/
I took advantage of the double switch also. I really wanted to hold on to my blue N7 but the reality was, it wasn't worth holding on to. I now have a silver S7edge and have applied for the VR promo, $10 Samsung pay visa and $25 bill credit... So I'm actually making $134 to switch to another device until the new N7 arrives... Then I switch backI am glad a recall has been done on all sold Note7. This way when replacements are delivered we know they are good to use.
I took advantage of double switch from Verizon. Although I am liking the edge I am greatly missing my blue coral. Had I not been experiencing the Note these past few yrs I would probably decide to keep the edge. But I do like the stylus a b day also capability of Note 7 the edge can't perform. I appreciate Verizon for allowing us this during this time until they have replacements. My experience has been great under this tough time. Samsung will recover
There will be a look up tool once the replacements start going out. If you have one that is not a replacement, it is not safe. The tool will help identify which are replacements and which are not, not distinguish between bad batches. 100% of batches that weren't made to be sold in China are bad.

The mods will close this the second they see it. You should remove it ASAP.^^^^^
They say it's a fake site that is stealing IMEI number for cloning.
Yup! Exactly what I did.... why hold on to a phone that's gotta be traded in regardless.... I submitted for the VR promo yesterday and also got another $10 Samsung pay visa..... Plus a $25 bill credit... Not to mention, all the accessories from the N7 box that I was able to keepTo clarify... Your phone will work 100% correctly until it doesn't.. and then it very much won't ... ending badly. Trade it in... do the double trade...I want my note back and will be the first in line when the new ones come out... but I did the double trade. Is it likely to happen to you.... No, not at all. But the odds are getting better by the day 70 incidents turns out to be something like 1 in 25,000.
Plus, if you play the game right you can get a free GEAR VR.. the new model that everyone was crying about not getting free when the Note 7 was released. So in a month or so you can have it all... Note 7 (new), Gear VR, and the memory card from your first Note 7 purchase! (plus several samsung pay bonuses, and $25 bill credit from your carrier)
I was under the impression that this tool was to be used to simply verify if you have a Pre September note or a post September note. The intent is not to try and distinguish what notes already sold have the good batteries.

This tool becomes critical only once the new notes are released and you want to check if the one you are about to buy on swappa as an example is safe.
None of the notes we currently have should pass this test.
