Be nice to see if anyone post some hands on impressions of the US version after this.

Well, I did go to the Toronto event tonight. Here are some highlights.

1) The phone is drop dead GORGEOUS!!! The screen is beautiful. You can not tell any pentile vs slcd difference to the naked eye. My son has the one x and I couldn't tell the difference between them.
2) It's super fast and super smooth. Launched lots of apps at the same time, music, videos etc and it handled everything thrown at it.
3) The blue home button colour matches the blue colour on the back of the phone. It does not, however, match the darker colour surrounding the home button and it's not supposed to. Yes, it looks off, but according to the Samsung reps, it's supposed to be the same as the back.
4) The camera is amazing, even in low light.
5) Both the blue and white colour look great.

Nope. We only got a blinking led wrist band with "Samsung Galaxy S3" on it and on the way out we received a small thin S3 usb key that looks like a small version of the S3.

We had events in Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto with the following bands, Sam Roberts, Down with Webster and Cobra Starship. It's a 2gb card with only one song from each band and a pdf with an offer of a free olympic bluetooth headset, although, I think that free headset deal is no longer available, but I'll be in touch with Samsung to find out.

It really reinforced the fact that I'm getting this phone in blue. I was waffling for a bit based on the blue colour issues and the pentile screen issue, but they were put to rest tonight. The screen blue (get it?) me away!!

Got home from the ny launch a while ago. Left @ 11 but I think they were going until 1:00. I never get too tired for a night out but tonight I was exhausted. Hopefully I don't miss anything good.

With that said it was a really awesome event. Tons of swag (nothing anyone wants or needs though). Steph Curry was there as well as Seb Ingrosso. I was prepared for a total geek fest, but it was anything but that. One of the guys I met in line even won an entire Samsung home theatre and an S3....so jealous.

All carrier branded phones were present. I am trying to think about what people might want to know in advance but I will try to answer questions. The way they gave away prizes was like this: when you walked in you got a pouch of 4 different colored tec tiles. From there you went to four different stations where your tile was scanned via NFC of course. The default prize was the swag and then there was the good stuff one of which I mentioned above and the others I am not sure about if there were different prizes.

All in all. I left impressed, but I am switching from BlackBerry so maybe I am easy to please.

Cool way to give out the goodies. Smart too, advertising the TecTiles. Nice move. Sounds like it was fun. Wish I couldve went

There wasn't a lot, or any for that matter, of talk by Samsung officials about the phone. It was just a big party basically with brand managers (pretty girls in sexy outfits) demonstrating features of the phone and scanning tec tiles as well as Seb Ingrosso spinning for quite a while.

I was there from 9-11pm. Maybe someone else will come along and fill in the happenings from 11-1.

Skrillex was the special guest! He rocked the house. Party was awesome. Had a blast. Can't wait to get my hands on this baby. Walt Clyde Frasier was there as well. Tec Tiles were a nice touch.

Damn, Skrillex is cool. I was hoping for a special guest in Toronto and that it would've been Deadmau5, but we got stuck with some crappy band called Cobra Starship :'( No Tec Tiles for us and the Samsung rep didn't even know about them. :-[
