Samsung seems to be listening to what users want, just a pity that you still need an app to be able to remap the Bixby button.

Do I have to go through the Bixby setup (signing the user agreements, etc.) in order to get to the Bixby Home screen to disable the button?

You could also try BXActions app. I intend to do just that with mine. I don't want to have to sign up for it just to stop the button from working, either.

Just went into Bixby and there's a software update. After the update and then going back into Bixby there was an option to disable the button at the top of the screen so no need to go through the setup process again. Thank goodness for this, the accidental activations of that thing when putting it into my pocket was a right PITA.

I actually like bixby.. And if you use nova and disable the button then you cant use bixby

Where would one go to now map the available button to another app? Say maybe camera or open text messages?

And before someone suggests an app, I'm more asking if this is baked into Touchwiz/Stock Android OS

Looks like I don't have that update yet. Mine says latest version installed, but home is version 2.0.02.1 and voice is version 1.0.09.6. I can get to the screen shown above, but I do not have that option.

it is not baked into TW or stock Android. Right now the only way to do this is with a third party app.

I gave in and set up Bixby so I could use its new option to disable the button. I don't have Bixby left-swipe configured either. (I'm not using any remapper app.)

I've only hit the bixby button once by accident but man I'm going to have to shut off bixby voice or whatever it is called. Cause when I watch a YouTube video about any kind of phone bixby wakes up. Resulting in video being paused. I was watching a iPhone, note8 and LG V20 video last night and bixby came on like every 5 seconds. It was funny at first but now the chick is stalking me lmao. So yeah I'm fine with bixby except that bixby voice so bye bye. Lol.
