Since the G4 has a removable SD card and battery, is that a deal maker for anyone? When you heard which did you think: 'Sold!'?

It is good to know that LG didn't give up on either one, thus giving us another choice in the range of options we have for devices.

Not a deal maker but it's nice to have the option to remove battery and add SD card. The whole package (improved display, impressive camera, back buttons, removable battery, SD card, overall design) is why G4 will probably be my next phone.

They've achieved what HTC failed to do on the M9.

It is an incremental upgrade with nothing major that stands out. But everything they have upgraded is significantly better.

Hmm it wasn't the removable battery or SD card that has me interested, I'm just interested in a new phone with better battery life than my current one. From what I gather the G4 has a pretty good screen and upgraded camera, so I'll be keeping an eye out for it.

I have been thinking of adding another line just for the sake of getting a different device. I almost wanted to get the M9, but decided to wait to see the G4. Now I am glad I did.

Honestly I would have preferred a sealed battery of a higher capacity, built in Qi charging, and Quick Charge. With how I work, carrying a spare battery isn't feasible.

On the charging front, I have AT&T which borked the G3 by removing Qi and inserting PMA which only worked with a case. Plus, many accounts that I've read reported that PMA constantly failed. The least LG could have offered is Quick Charge.

I got over these two that I'll take a better build any day.

I guess a good question is, if an average user can get 70% of their battery in about 16 hours, is Quick Charge really necessary?
If they plan to charge overnight then no. But I don't like to charge overnight, instead preferring to quickly charge to near full before bed. I also suspect that it won't last me the whole day as even the note 4 couldn't do that. Though I am admittedly a heavy user.

Also, Mophie is already on the starting block with a battery case for the G4, and there will probably be others for users who like that way of doing it. :)

Although I appreciate the ability to expand my storage and swap out my battery (I do both with my G3), I am more bothered by the rear speaker. I am intrigued by the new camera and screen technology but don't know which is more important to me. Looking at the Nexus 6 as well. Any thoughts?

For me, I am honestly not sure what to think about the rear speaker. I have an M8 as my daily driver now, so shifting away from front speakers might be more surprising than I realize.

Although the SD card slot and removable storage aren't of the highest importance to me (I'd take a G2 over an S5 or M8 any day) it makes the overall package much, much better to me - especially the SD Card slot. I just liked how they improved on 8/10 things from the G3; display, camera, in-hand feel (hopefully), look, and kept the expandable storage and removable battery. I wish it would have stayed the same size as the G3, or if not gotten front facing speaker(s) - but there's no such things as a perfect phone, this does comes pretty close though. :p

Having a phone with a removable battery and sd slot is mandatory for me.
I do wish they would have had a AMOLED screen and dual front facing speakers.
Though my G3 did sound louder than the M8 surprisingly.
My brother just picked up his first android coming from the rotten apple.
He got the Note 4 and man it really is a nice phone.
I can't wait to try out the G4 and put it to the test.

Honestly, I don't understand why manufacturers are moving away from a removable battery. I love the fact that LG moved to it!

They are just following a government agreement in which all phones will eventually have an always on feature. So they can track you all the time.

Because of people who scream for the thinnest bezeless type of phone and because of the popularity of the iPhone and trying to clone their design.

I'm not sure of going back to rear speakers coming from the m8 but to gain a better overall experience I'll gladly give the front speakers up. After all there are some wonderful bt and wired headsets that sound even better....

Tried the M8. Couldn't get over how tall it was because of those speakers. They still had the power button at the top making it impossible to use one handed. I really don't care about the sounds of my music on the phone because I use earbuds. Of course, I work in a cubical environment, so I pretty much have to use earbuds.
