Your first impressions of the Note2 (Give us your review!)

The thing that I thought was going to be useless is actually the best Part of this phone, the S-Pen. I expected to never use it but I almost always use it, I even wrote this with it, as well everything else I ever have to write. It would honestly be hard to go to a different phone after using the S-pen.

First off I'm going to say that I love this phone, but in the interest of seeing improvements upon it I'm going to bring up my issues with it. Some things are simply a case of exaggerated expectations, others just minor glitches that I expect will be fixed soon.

S voice fails. I'm not talking about its search ability, but wake up from lock screen has had me changing the wake up command, reciting it in as many variants as I feel I might have sounded like, voice to text is also weak. I know this tech isn't perfect. I know it should have a few programs to help it understand an individuals tone and inflection like: The quick red Fox jumps over the lazy Brown dog, and some tongue twisters to get it adjusted to us each.

Multiview tab is touch sensitive outside of its visual boundary, npr's podcasts on the Internet place their tiny play button close to the tab and no less than one out of every two times I went to press it, being more careful and frustrated with each failing. Obviously this is an isolated incident under particular conditions, but it is my experience that annoyances like this are recurring themes.

While listening to those podcasts today the alert to emails would shut down the podcasts, very annoying as my phone was sometimes at the other end of the house. ( which btw was7 hours solid over my bluetooth sennheiser mm 100 headset at 85% volume then two more hours after work playing dead trigger for a total of 9 hours for the headset as well as some time yesterday.Very impressive for both devices! ) since then I've been playing poker and surfing the Web for 3 more hours and am now writing this at 13%.

Paper artist is amazing. Emails not loading is annoying (I have mobile data off until I'm comfortable with how much I'll be using coming from unlimited service to Verizon I only have 4 gigs and I'm a netophile and Gmail seems to hang loading emails when it connects to wifi, though I'm fairly certain it's user error assisted somehow in this case.

Just a couple of more gripes, the spen could have used a bit more raise on the button and while it was a good idea to make it not roll the pen should be a bit easier to put away, roundish with a square or triangular end would have worked as well.

These are very small gripes. Nothing is game breaking, and every phone has its edges that need smoothing. That being said, no other phone comes close.

Update: Gmail pushed out an update and is now working as it should. battery life is insane, Ive almost made it to New game+ on Chrono trigger (9xemu)
and I cannot express how amazed I am.

So far, I LOVE this phone and I can't stop looking and playing with it. Of course it's not perfect, but what is? I actually enjoy learning to live with the peculiarities of a platform, because mastering them makes me feel like I have accomplished something great . And I totally agree with the second comment above me. The spen is very useful though it definitely takes some practice (and I totally wrote this whole message using it).

Pretty impressive. Played with one for a few minutes today. Turned on the multi-window function for the Verizon rep. I put device down after that....

(edit) in my opinion, this phone would be great for folks that have schedule heavy lives and are great multitaskers. But it does kindof remind me of my old Palm pilot....
