Your thoughts? Is the Maxx still worth it with it's build issues?

Some people say the camera isn't too good on the Maxx. I don't have any issues either, but I just wanted to make sure this person knows that there is a fix out there.

I'm sure once development takes off... There will be other versions as well. Possibly the CM10.2 camera. Which I'm guessing is just about the same as the current software since Motorola is now owned by Google. It just needs that update.

Unfair? Why would you say that people who have not had a problem (like me) are unfair for reporting it? Its like you only want to hear bad things...
Unfair. All 3 of mine have creaked or squeaked. The first one did it right out the box so I switched it out. The second one was fine for 2 months or so and then got real bad. The replacement has movement but nothing to bad so I'm leaving it alone unless it gets worse. How hard is it to make a quality phone with a great build? Ah well, glad none of you are having any sort of issues.

i only saw the one case of microphone going out and i think the person submerged the phone in water..

Pretty sure you are referring to me. The phone was never submerged or dropped. The mic just died. That was definitely a build quality issue.

My new phone is great. Haven't experienced any issues yet. I still recommend this phone. Can't get over the battery life.

The only issue I'm having is the quality of the volume rocker and power button. Because of the SIM card placement my volume rocker wiggles but so does my power button, though there's no excuse for that one. The rest of my phone is rock solid! Can't imagine where there would be creaking.

This is easily the best built phone I have had since my BlackBerry days. It is solid.

Outside of the dust that gets stuck in the creases, no problems here.

Yeah... This here is my only issue... Which tells u a lot about the build quality. The phone is structured incredibly well.

I'm using Skinomi products on my phone. Normally, I'd go naked, but I have a very clumsy fiance that cracks her iPhone(s) like crazy and she likes to borrow my phone once in a while.

Phone of the year IMO. But think they will give that honor to the S4.

I'm still pretty new to the phone, but no build quality issues for me. If anything I would agree that this phone seems more solid than most I have had.

I also agree that you have to remember that the people coming to the sites to complain or look for help are not a good measure. How many users are out there that have zero complaints and no reason to write in to disclose their problems. I personally was down to this or the LG G2, and the solid feel of this phone was one of the main reasons that I picked this versus the other.

I did a stress analysis on mine and considered loading as a function of distributed pressure, of edge impact point load and of wheels up landing with a 9g forward limit load. Minimum margin of safety was in panel buckling and remained positive at +4.57.

I've had mine since about 2 weeks after launch, and it's still perfect. Fairly heavy usage (biz cell phone, plus I waste a fair amount of time on it).

????

Mine is solid and have had it since the 2nd week it was out

I have absolutely zero problems with mine. It's been an awesome device. Only spec that I would have liked different was the screen size. 5.2" would have been perfect.

How is image retention? My Maxx HD was terrible with this, and the display seems unchanged

Not sure about image retention - I haven't noticed anything particularly - but the display is different. The Maxx HD was Pentile, this display is not.

I think Brandon is referring to burn in which I haven't seen at all on a Droid Maxx. The difference between these displays is that one is Pentile and the other isn't. I'm curious what people do that causes so much image retention.

I'd like to point out I dropped this thing onto pavement right on the upper left corner from pocket level. Scratched up the corner a little, glass didn't crack a bit. Phone still isn't creaky and feels as solid as when I took it out of the box.

I've noticed all the Samsung phones at Verizon have burn in. Even the note 3. None of the droid maxx or ultra phones had this issue.
