Your Top 5 Android Applications?

we need to start a list....I did it at wmexperts and everythingq.com
I had free apps in blue and paid apps in red and it was catagorized and everything..
It was a PITA but what do you guys think about starting one here?

Agreed... This has become a great resource for apps that aren't really mainstream... The "Top 5" thread is good, but it tends to point to duplicates and apps a lot of people already know about... This one is more of a "hey, I found a great new app" thread that really increases the chance of a small developer with a really good idea to become successful...

Having them all in a list would be great, but would be a lot of work...

If anybody wants to start one ill be more than happy to sticky it. Keep in mind this person needs to be able to update it frequently which takes a lot out of you if your busy. Trust me I know. I have a rom thread for the droid and its hard to find time to update it and moderate the forum.

Bloo (Facebook app way better than the stock one)
Mileage (great for tracking MPG's etc)
Flying Toasters Live Wallpaper
iBird Yard (I'm still waiting for a Pro version - I loved it on my iPod)
c:geo (geocaching app)
Vignette (camera app - see my review here)

Awesome alarm app

Good Morning: I've been playing around with this one for a few days, it's an awesome alarm app called Good Morning, you can set it to read outloud custom text, the weather report for your area, play a song, a bunch of different alarms noises, and even tell you the temperature in Kelvins. And it's got snooze! Best alarm I've found on Android yet.

Looks like the dev released a pay version in the last day or two that adds in the ability to read calendar entries. Haven't tried that out yet, but they've been adding features and doing bug fixes fairly regularly since I first discovered it a couple of weeks ago.

iBird Yard (I'm still waiting for a Pro version - I loved it on my iPod)

I could've used this the other day... A few birds on the river that I couldn't identify the other day... The Bald Eagle was unmistakable though and really cool to see... $10 for this app? Is it worth it?

I think it is - I paid $20 for the pro version when I had my iPod and anything to help encourage the developer to bring other versions to Android I'm all for....

iBird Yard still has 234 birds in it....and I believe iBird Pro has closer to 1000...

Pro will cost you $30 when it comes out. Explorer may have been $20 (for ipod,) not sure. I have iBird Yard, but until they get Pro I'm using Audubon Guide ($20 and definitely worth it,) which has 800 or so birds in it. It's pretty good. Oh and Sibley's eguide is supposed to be available in September.

Your welcome haha. Didn't think anybody looked and read that.

Live bookmarks - a nice little bookmark folder/widget that scrolls when you open it.

Tikl - a walkie talkie type app that you can talk to friends who have and android phone and the app. The sad thing is my tech illiterate friend showed me it and I never heard of it until she showed me. For once somebody I know knew something about an android app that I didn't.

Oh yes, that was you that reviewed it. haha. Thank you. :)

For anyone who likes to play the board game Go, there is GOdroid (to play against the computer) or you can have live matches against other folks on the IGS network via Goigo.

Godroid is free a lot of fun, especially if you are really inexperienced at Go (like me). The computer will provide plenty of challenge.

Goigo is a paid app (I think $3 or something like that) and I haven't tried it yet. I just think it's cool that there is an IGS client for Android.

FYI, there is also a KGS client for Android, but it is more expensive and I don't remember the name of it, but it looks pretty polished.
