Wondering how I missed Handcent? Wow. When I found Chomp, I quit looking...and I missed out. Thanks to all the kudos, I gave it a look, and now, I'm Handcent all the way. What a difference.

How about some IS productivity apps this time around...

1. BiosBeepCodes - So you can identify problems with your PC the beeps its making.
2. Dell Service Tag Scanner - Scan the service tag, get your warranty and system config info.
3. Shead Spreet Lite - Scan barcodes into a spread sheet for easy inventory.
4. WiFi Analyzer - Analyzes WiFi signals around you.
5. WordFeud - Ok, it's just a fun game.

ChompSMS - Customizable beyond belief, from font colors, text bubble colors, different threading choices, custom background choices even from your own image gallery.

Ringdroid - Definitely an awesome way to create and edit your own ringtones for either text or calls.

Wifi Analyzer - Makes it very easy to see what all there is available close by for instant wireless connectivity.

Task Killer Free - Saves battery life and speeds up my phone. Recommended by the verizon rep that sold me the phone.

PandaHome - Allows you to create drawers to put additional program icons in and customize your different home screens when it comes to how many your allowed which normally is only 3.

These are definitely some great apps i've used and love. But then again, i'm just gettin started. ;) And i'll probably be rooting my moto droid soon. hehe

ChompSMS, especially since they added speech to text!
Ringdroid, for all the reasons said
Advanced Task Killer, definitely necessary
SayMyName, because I know whether or not I want to get up and answer the phone without looking at (i.e. I'm lazy) Not recommended if you like to keep your callers private lol

and I JUST found Pageonce Travel which is fantastic if you travel a lot for work.

AdFree (no adds)
Barnacle Wifi Tether (amazing free wireless tether)
Brightness Level (Widget with an auto setting)
XiiaLive Lite (streaming radio app)
Superuser Permissions (yea I went there...)

1. Pandora
2. Google Goggles
3. Facebook w/o update for evo (killed batt)
4. File Manager
5. Solitaire

Here's my fav's
Adw: awesome hope replacement. :)
Bar control: add any app to your notification bar.
Advanced task killer:dose what it says on the tin.
On off widget pack: a multitude of on of switches to control wifi/Bluetooth "well you get the idea"
Usage timeline: displays CPU usage in your notification bar in real time.

I think this is an awesome set up for my HTC Desire. :D

I just tried Aces Solitaire Pack 2

This is an awesome solitaire game! It has 40 different games and an online leaderboard. I would check it out.

I'll jump in here:

1337pwn.com xbox live app: let's you keep track of who's on live and who isn't, and call up their profiles to see what they've been playing, etc. Great for those "who's on playing what?" moments where you don't want to go to xbox.com to check, and don't want to power up your 360 if nobody is on either.

Doggcatcher: the best podcast program i've ever seen. Blows away everything else i've tried, blows away iPhone and ITMS podcast service on my old iPhone, just very *VERY* well done overall. Insanely customizable.

G4: great collection of streaming video clips from the G4 TV network, the quality is really, really high, and they're coming out with new content very regularly.

SportsTap: best sports widget/app i've found. Very easy to set up favorite teams, nice customizable refresh rates on the data, widget works well.

VCast Song ID (Verizon): it does basically the same thing as Shazam and SoundHound, and does it free. My hit rate with it has been pretty positive, but (like the other two) techno and jazz give it fits.

This thread is a great compliment to the top 5 app thread. Please Sticky!

Launch-X Pro: This is a 4 x 1 widget that you can be filled with 4 to 49 icons. Lots of options.

Dice Wars: Risk like multiplayer game. The game needs more players, but it has great potential.

Shortercut: I prefer this over BetterCut

SwitchPro Widget: great toggle widget. also has a 4g toggle.

SoundHound: This app is much better than Shazam

Torrent-fu: Great torrent app
