I've been having trouble finding apps posted here, in the app store (i.e. swype, audible). I do an app search, and nothing shows. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The app market has been having issues lately. It's been reported by many people. I don't have any links offhand, but you can easily find them just by looking through a page or two of the topics. Also, some apps aren't available in the market. I believe swype is closed beta right now. And lastly, some paid apps may not be available in all countries (don't know where you are).

BTW, anyone have any luck downloading this app: Slide Screen by Larva Labs

That looks awesome but I'll wait for some other guinea pigs to try it.

Swype and Audible are both betas a google search should get you the Swype .apk (or try Shapewriter on the market), sign up here for Audible http://groups.google.com/group/audible-for-android-beta?hl=en

that slidescreen does look cool - I can't get it to download though

after more digging it appears development on it has been abandoned....

Does anyone know if there are any games that allow you to play others online like the iPhone does?

Top Five Apps

My Top 5 Apps Are
1)Twitter for Android 2)Advanced Task Manager 3)Dogg Cather for Podcasts 4)Astro File Manager 5)Evernote 6)Sirius/Xm App Well my top 6 for now.

what's the difference in task manager and advanced task killer? why not use android's native app killer?

btw, new to android but in need of some killer games, suggestions?

A few of my fav apps;
Astro File manager: the easiest way to save items to your SD card and not your internal memory. Great for moving music & videos to your SD.
Drop Box: a free 2G of external storage, allows you to keep docs or pics or whatever and not take up memory on your phone, can be accessed by any computer where ever you are.
Silent Mode On/Off: a great app with a widget that you tap once and it places your phone on vibrate, tap again and it places phone on silent mode, tap again and it is back to full ring. Great for business meetings and such.
Android System info: app has wealth of system info of your phone, battery percentage, apps running and task killer, internal and SD memory usage etc.
Note Everything: a great note pad, you can also get the noteeverything docs for all files.
Some of the basics, and all are free apps.

5 apps that I use the most (in no particular order):
Google Voice
GMail
Google Calendar
Google Finance
Slacker radio

Here are some free ones that waste at least 80% of my life.

All of the Storm8 Games:
Imobsters
Ninjas Live
Kingdoms Live
Vambipres Live
World War

Spira Defense
Void Defense
RoboDefense (biggest time waster ever)

Just got my first Android phone (D Inc) a few days ago and was wondering....I keep hearing about Google Navigation. Is this a separate app from Google Maps or is the navigation portion built into Maps?

Sorry if this is a basic question. Just getting used to all the things I can do with this phone. (switched from a Storm 1)

If you update your Google Maps app the navigation icon will be in your appdrawer.

1. Weather Bug Elite
2. Nimbuzz
3. Rom Manager
4. Google Maps/Navigation
5. Twitter

I could list 20 favs though...
