Your way to update to MD4

I didnt looses root. step #2 worked perfect for me. only thing I cant geg multi winfow to work. dont wipe data or youll looses root. just the 2 caches worked. load both files then reboot. takes a min to boot up then updates your apps. once updating apps is complete phone will start and update its self. once completed your done!

Wiping data won't lose root, at least not if you're using CWM or TWRP recovery. For multi-window, go to settings / display and make sure the multi-window option is checked. If it is, try unchecking, then rechecking it. Then long press the back button to display / hide the little semi-circle tab on the left edge of the screen.

I did freeza's firmware a while ago, but never did the rom, and I lost root. I didn't really care that much, until now. I downloaded the DEODEXed pre-rooted rom zip from from here, wiped caches, installed, and I have the superuser app but no apps can get root. Is there a new Odin root process for MD4 I can use? It also seems to be using another recovery, most likely stock from the looks of it.

I'm assuming since you're trying to update to MD4 that the OTA won't work. I think what I would suggest is following the procedure in the thread linked below to get root, and then manually applying MD4 using the steps in post 2 of this thread.

Alternately, you could try applying the MD4 update using post 1 of this thread, and then root.

MD4 is already on the device, I just lost root when I did it. I'm asking if the process is still the same, or is there a new process for re-rooting the device with the MD4 update already on it. I just keep the device rooted with the stock ROM.

Exactly what is it you want to do? There are several threads that talk about updating to 4.3.

Has anyone noticed random restarts after the rooted update to 4.3? They are increasing in frequency (it was days, now every few hours or less) and I don't want to go through the rolling restart issue which ruined my previous gs3...

I've not had any random reboots. It would help if you gave us more info. Are you rooted, stock or custom ROM, kernel and recovery?

Not happening to me, but then I'm on a custom 4.3 ROM. I haven't seen a lot of complaints about this, though.

I've had nothing but problems trieng to flash a ROM to my s3 I guess I needed a md4 ROM to be able to be compatible with new CM builds, this is the only place I've found what I need I've been looking for weeks, I was following XDA developers , but a lot of those guys are dicks and if ur fairly new and don't know all the geek jargen they try to make u feel stupid for even asking, great job on this man I'm following you now on I'm coming this way for my software needs and questions, I gave a galaxy tab 3 that's running 4,4 KitKat and CM11 and now that I have this download for my s3 I'm gonna flash 4.4 to that as well, thanks for all the help
