Hi, I have the Samsung Galaxy 20+ phone. (Apparently the last phone that takes SD cards? So might be my last phone ever? ;-)

Using the YouTube app, with subscription to YouTube Premium.

Often while watching or listening to a YT video on the app, if I just pick up or put down or in any way move the phone (without touching the screen), it changes to a different video. Quite aggravating. I then go back to find the videos I was watching or listening to, but that is a hassle.

What could be causing this odd behavior (have others experienced it), and what could fix it? Change in YT app or phone settings?

Here is something I tried already. I asked ChatGPT about it, and this was its suggestion:

"Optional: Try Disabling Sensors Temporarily

  • For testing: You can disable all sensors with a Developer option shortcut.
  • Go to Settings > About Phone > Tap “Build Number” 7 times to enable Developer Options.
  • Then go to Developer Options > Quick Settings Developer Tiles > Sensors Off.
  • Add that toggle to your Quick Settings. Turn it on and see if the behavior stops (that means it was sensor-related)."

Tried that. It did disable the sensor, in that even if rotation is turned on, the screen won't rotate on rotating the phone. However, it did not fix the problem of videos changing on me involuntarily. (So the problem is not caused by the rotation sensor.)

Anyone else experienced this? Were you able to fix it? Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

I would clear the app data as well. Everything should resync once you restart it.
