YouTube app refuses to work....

I have been having the same problem, I've contacted HTC and they told me they are currently working on a fix. Most likely meaning the 2.1 update coming out in a month or so...

It varies by video. Right now, there is no fix. You can go to the mobile site m.youtube.com and see if that works for you.

Sigh..... now that's not working for me any more. This really sucks! Wish Skyfire would hurry up & get something working on android.

The browser has never worked with YouTube or embedded videos since I got my "with Google" Hero in October. I just use the "app and tap" til it works.

I've seen this issue come up lately in other forums.

I am a new Sprint Hero owner (coming from a Pre and so far not looking back). However, I am a heavy YouTube surfer, and it seems like every other video result on the YouTube app gives me the "Sorry, cannot play this video error". Can anyone help me? I've tried the SD Card reset thing and that doesn't work. Does "jailbreaking it" work to fix this problem? This is the only thing that has left me missing my Pre :confused::(

i have the same problem here, very discouraging.

I have the same issue ,even on a rooted Hero. Mine doesn't have "with Google". Im about to try the m.youtube way.. I forgot though.. how do I make sure javascript is enabled.. (brain fart).

Thanks in advance.

When your in your browser go to settings & check enable javascript.

I'd like to retract my previous question. Open the browser>settings>enable javascript.
ANYWAY, it worked. I've watched 5 videos -in LOW quality. But they play. The upgrade BETTER include the fix.

Happens all the time, and I'm rooted running Fresh ROM.

If you keep clicking the link for the video, it eventually plays.... like 50 times later.

Very annoying, as well as the Hero's famous LAG from hell.

There have been multiple reported uses (Sprint-wide) of youtube thinking you have a chinese address, and then the video gets blocked. As of right now there is no fix for this but HTC is "working on a fix". --> Tip thanks to Flipz...
