Youtube/Chrome workaround for background listening NO LONGER WORKS!

Hello! 2 week old Android user here, with an S9+. I watch/listen to a lot of youtube videos, and listen in the car, but the workaround I've used recently, where I access the video on the desktop version of youtube via chrome and then can access it later in the background has stopped working as of today, if not sooner.

Any idea why this would be happening, and if there's a way to fix it - or just a 3rd party youtube app that doesn't make me have to deal with this?

Since background listening is a paid service for YouTube, the more correct description is their site was technically broken and they did fix it. It's not the first bug like this that's been exploited, and any future ones will eventually be fixed as well.
