YouTube Force Close

I'm new to Android so please be gentle. I've looked all over but have only seen responses for rooted devices.

I'm running 2.1 on my Fascinate (not rooted) whenever I try to view my YouTube history, subscriptions, or anything having to do with my account in the native YouTube app it force closes. Can anyone shed some light on this? Its been said bugs may be fixed with Froyo update but who knows when that's really going to happen...

This question sort of came up on the podcast too. Are you signing in to a YouTube account that is using credentials other than your Gmail account and/or a secondary account? A caller said this was happening to him on his second account. One thing you can try is going to settings > applications > and doing a clear cache for the YouTube app.

Go to Settings>Applications>Manage applications>Youtube

clear the data and cache then restart youtube, you will get the agreement notice again click agree and your video from youtube should play again.

Ithink this is a glitch of new version of youtube where you can now watch HD quality videos

Thanks guys. I tried clearing the data from the applications settings tab that didn't help. I then removed my secondary gmail account (the one I log into youtube with) from my device all together and tried logging in to youtube that way but it still force closes.

I suppose as long as I can view videos I'll deal with it and see what an update may bring...
