Android Central Question

Just got my S20+ and in setting it up I've been over zealous and disabled the ability for youtube links to open in the app, now they only open in the browser. Is there any way of undoing this?

So far I have:

Tried to change permissions and defaults but youtube app settings say no defaults set.

Uninstalled and reinstalled samsung internet.

Updated phone software and browser version.

No dice.

Sorry if it's been asked before but all answers seem to be for older phones and software.

Thanks for the advice, however, I tried that and all it did was allow all the apps I stopped notifications for to pop up again.

Up until Saturday my phone was an S8 and I'm wondering if I'm just assuming the ability to open in app from the browser is even a thing on the S20 as I can't seem to find anything in regards to this function.

Hi welcome!

Yeah that reset all apps back to stock incase anything was changed.

Does this happen in chrome also ?

It works fine in chrome, I was a bit taken aback by how smoothly and seemlessly the app opened so thought it was not working correctly at first.

I'd rather not use chrome but if I have to break a habit I've had since the S3 then I may have to.

You have permission enabled in Samsung internet? Long press the app tap info check permission?

Sorry what do i need to enable? There are loads of options like camera, microphone, contacts etc. Then there are loads of advanced ones too.

What selection do you have for these two options in settings - apps - YouTube - Defaults?
