Youtube links opening in browser instead of youtube app

After I updated to Jelly Bean whenever I click on a youtube link in gmail it opens it up in my browser on youtube's mobile site. How do I get it to open the video in the youtube app? I've tried clearing defaults on both my browser and youtube apps but that didn't work.

I tried that and uninstalling and reinstalling gmail, still doesn't work.

Tried a factory reset this weekend and youtube links in gmail still open in my browser. i'm running out of ideas.

I'm having the same problem on my new Nexus10 tablet - clicking on YouTube link in Facebook opens Browser instead of YouTube app.

I can't replicate the issue, it always brings up the choose menu...
Only other thing I cab think of is delete gmail and youtube, clear browser defaults and reinstall gmail and youtube.
